3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Ya I see that. I was thinking of getting the 1 flash on ecu. So I’ll probably get down pipes anyway. Running race chip now. With all other add on already. His flash is more hp then the racechip

Tork posted in a video a while ago that they had the over boost issue when removing the primary cats. They have posted a video or two about their Stinger since and have not mentioned it. They may have a tuning solution for it or maybe they are ignoring its for now. If you're dead set on a primary delete then I'd contact them directly and see where they are at with it. Tork is definitely your best bet though. No other tuners have gone as far as they have.

Yep. I already have a lot of his stuff on car. Already burned tire off at 5000 miles spins all the way threw 3rd gear

Ok thanks that’s what I thaught. Is anybody making a pipe to replace cat or a free flowing cat for these cars
Funny that these should come up today. Ultimate Performance LLC. posted on FB that they have primary cat replacement / secondary cat delete / downpipe for $1399
They say it will mate up to an aftermarket cat back.
I don't see it on their site yet. No Dyno, slip times or anything like that were posted.

Interesting and that may be one of the highest HP gains for an exhaust combination.

Hey guys,

I am considering buying the 3.3T stinger gt as I'm looking for a new sport car as a daily driver
I like most things about the stinger, my only gripe I have is the exhaust sound

So I need some help from you guys - cause I am either going to buy the stinger gt or a bmw m140 or m240

This is what the m140/m240 sounds like, its a 3.0L straight 6 turbo:

Can I get the stinger to sound like this? If so please let me know, if I can then I will buy a stinger but if I cannot get a good sound then I will likely not buy one :(

I agree that sounds much meaner than our Stingers but a couple things to consider.

That video is not what a stock m140/m240 sounds like. That’s a very aggressive exhaust with resonators removed and is designed for “pops & bangs”.

Second, a straight 6 has a unique sound and will never sound the same as V6. Just like a flat 6 boxer engine will sound completely different even if all have about the same size engine. Not saying one is better than the other, just different.

But if you do a quick search on here you will find many examples of awesome sounding exhausts for our Stingers. Here is just an axleback/muffler delete and nothing else. I think it sounds great and hope this helps.

I am in Brisbane Australia and I just had the Xforce Varex Exhaust system installed on my Stinger GT 3.3TT, but unfortunately I have had to have it removed as my staff lease didn't permit modifications. I am now selling it on eBay and gumtree, so take a look if you are interested in getting a basically brand new system at a solid discount.

G’day @Shane M, I think your the guy I spoke to on EBay about the xforce system, welcome to the forum.

I just got my Ark Grip exhaust installed a few weeks ago and recently added the SSR performance down pipes with secondary cat delete. With this combo it sounds similar to the BMW video posted above. Interesting side note, the drone actually got quieter with the down pipes added. Overall though the whole exhaust got louder and at WOT people will hear you from several blocks away. The only trouble is you can only WOT for a few seconds or you'll be at 100 MPH. Even though there is less drone with the down pipes I still ended up completely covering my trunk with sound proofing and went as far as removing the internal lining and filling the fenders with foam material. I also covered up all the holes in the framework and filled the area around the battery with sound deadening foam. Makes a huge difference and the drone is much quieter now. Very happy with the sound and REALLY happy with the added performance.

My Stinger is AWD and in comfort mode I can hit the gas around a corner and kick the rear out (dry road). In sport mode on wet roads it can get a little dicey but very fun if you don't go too crazy (AWD drifting anyone?). I noticed a bump in low end torque with the down pipes and upper end torque with the cat back exhaust. Going 60 and gunning it throws you into the seat now. No official 0-60 times or dyno numbers but with intakes and LAP3 at 93 I would estimate that I'm at over 420HP at the wheels. I'm going by other people who have dyno results with similar mods have posted. The car is crazy fast now. Last thing I want to do is spare ECU with an actual tune from Tork. If you are wondering, I do have the correct spark plugs and oil catch cans installed as well. I would not run this setup without either. Not a lot of slop in the pistons/rings, minimal blow by from the small amount of oil I'm getting in my catch cans.

Excited to hear this! I've had my Ark Grip exhaust around 8 months now, and love it, but I'm looking for a more aggressive tone and more power. I literally just ordered the SSR pipes about 2 hours ago , so I'm glad the drone doesn't get worse.

Do you have an AWD or RWD Stinger? The pipes are made for RWD but can also fit AWD. There is a small interference on the driver side pipe when installed on an AWD Stinger though. I had to dent my down pipe to make it not hit. If you are RWD then you have nothing to worry about...except traction. Also, the SSR Pipes match the Ark Grip in both color and material finish. Not that you can really see them, but it is nice that it all matches up.

I have RWD so should be no issues. I did my homework already haha. Glad to hear they match though. I thought about waiting for the Ark ones to come out, but the SSR ones are $450 on KHAR's site with the 10% off so I figured I couldn't pass that up. Guessing Ark's will be close to $600 like JunBl.

Same reason I went with the SSR performance. The pipes match perfect. Make sure you keep the flanges centered when cranking the cat nuts down. The slots they put in the flanges are a little big and can overlap the opening in the cat giving you a leak. I have had no problems with mine leaking, just wanted you to be aware. I sent pictures to SSR so they could possibly update the next batch. No idea if they will. Also these are super easy to install thanks to easy access to the cats from below.

Awesome! I only have jack stands so I'm sure it'll still be slightly painful, but if my impact is strong enough then I think it won't be so bad. Especially with RWD andthe lack of front axles.

There's NO WAY you should have to dent the pipe!!
