3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Hi xot1, a question about the valved exhaust. I’m also very interested in one but not sure what to get. But anyway, about the valves. Do they open at a certain RPM even in closed mode? Valved OEM exhausts usually do that not to damage the engine to let it breathe properly.

Just curious of how these valved aftermarket exhausts work and I want to be sure not to risk damaging the engine if i drive with closed valves when stepping on it.

Both valves do not close, valves close mean one of the exhaust tips are closed. Valves open mean both are open. You are not in danger of damaging your engine.

We haven't forgotten " Wheres our video?":laugh::laugh::laugh::whistle:...please.:)

The sound does not tell correctly the actual sound (integrated mic), but I would say after ~10 days of ownership that the sound in the cabin is relatively quiet compared to other exhausts.
Outside it is much louder than one would expect from hearing it inside, but it is not as loud as, lets say, Ark or Borla exhausts.
So if you want to be the loudest in the neighborhood, other exhausts might do better for you. In my case I am fine with that level of "loud", especially without drone (important factor for me).
If I had to make few changes, I wished the exhaust was quieter with closed valve, and a little bit louder in the higher RPMs with open valve.
With the valve closed, it has a kind of rumble when you push it past 1500 RPM, and sounds a bit restricted when going over 3000 RPM. (no drone, still)
And with the valve opened, the exhaust kind of hits a plateau in terms of volume after 3000 RPM, I get the impression that it does not to get louder past that point,
but at high speeds road noise and wind noise are so loud that it is hard to evaluate the volume of the exhaust from the cabin.
(I wished exhausts makers were required to publish a dB/RPM curve!)

The perfect exhaust for me would be even quieter than this one under 2000 RPM, then progressively increase in volume to go super loud past 4000 RPM (a little bit like a NA engine),
but I don't know if that kind of sound characteristic is possible with this car. :)

You can have them open at a certain RPM in "auto" mode. But it requires to use an App and I didn't try yet.
There are two pipes of different diameter, and the valve blocks most of the the air flow to the larger(=louder) pipe, it does not damage the engine.

Sounds great! Thanks for the inside the vehicle video

Sounds great not to loud, like your tunnel work

How are you liking the shifter extensions?

How are you liking the shifter extensions?
I am pretty satisfied, but it is more of a cosmetic upgrade than a functional one. :)

My local muffler guy did a dope custom muffler delete with side silencers, zero drone and powder coated my tips for $500. Sounds way more aggressive and ever feels quicker. I love everything about it and did I mention zero drone! Sounds like it should now great cold start and warmed up.

Very interesting. Definitely share some clips! Drone is what I'm concerned about if I switch to new exhaust.

Sounds good, love the fact of no drone, can you post a vid of it running.

That sounds pretty good.
Now we need some fly by's

Here's a clip of my drone-less muffler delete. What you think?
Thanks for the vid, good job, love the sound it puts out nice & throaty without being tinny & the biggest + is no drone...& great price to get that result, I like very much.
