Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 1/4 Mile Times

Good info Terry. If boost drops when cold, what is the optimum IAT to be fastest? :)
I've been running mostly on cold days. Did run the 3.87 at 50 degrees but the 1/4 miles were low 30s.
On this run IAT was 65 at start 60 at the end. I'm logging the boost / vacume gauge so it goes -10 or what ever. (My log starts during LC so boost near 0) Also have the option to log absolute intake pressure.
The bottom chart axis is time, just the data point count. Logging every .25 seconds.
On the second graph speed is on the left on the scale that goes to 125.

There is no easy solution there as to what is fastest overall, octane is also a factor. You will definitely want to evaluate the tuning under warmer weather also. Since the ECU is load based if not set properly the boost could climb much higher than expected as temperature does. Tuning is a multi-dimensional puzzle. :)

In terms of boost I'm not familiar with your logging tool, it may or may not be accurate in the logs, depending on the specific sensor being logged and whether it's zerod out for absolute boost numbers. What does the value read with the engine off, ignition on, for example?

The number of sample points and axis scaling will also effect how the log "looks".
This is true and you can see the torque app results have less data points than the JB4 logs. However, even if it’s less accurate and logs look naturally smoother because of fewer data points, it’s still the best anyone with an ecu tune has provided.

It’s also very informative by confirming both tunes & JB4s are using and modifying the same basic parameters.

But I think he said the target for the tune was 16.x psi so it looks dead on to me.
Actually, he just had it reflashed recently and said hes currently using a hotter ~18psi target. 16psi is probably just the lower boost & higher ignition timing caused by low IAT like mentioned above.

That being said, 16psi in first gear is still 4-6psi more than stock and shows what is necessary for sub 4 second 0-60s. Personally I think that’s one of the most significant & impressive things we can learn from these logs.

I just made a JB4 tweak to open up more boost in 1st, hoping it dries out soon so I can test it on the drag radials lol.

I think that will only be possible for the AWD guys. For us with RWD I think we need -16psi boost in 1st gear

Those look good! What was the rim/tire weight? I decided to bite the bullet and get matching RPF1 rims from the front of mine, can't live with the mismatched look. Went for 18x8.5 +30 offset. Hope they clear the brakes!

I installed my JT FMIC KIT, And lap 3 primary downpipes, along with VT snorkels. Only made 2 0-60 pulls and 1 full quarter mile pull due to snow and ice on the ground, and winter tires being real squirmy at high speed. Just the the same ran personal best times for both, and a record for jb4 cars I believe. This was also on map 2, so there is alot more in it. Dropped .3 off both 0-60 and 1/4 from the day before so I'd say the new combo is working well.

Car feels and sounds really pissed off now! Though it does have a weird resonance rasp around 1500 rpmn under certain load conditions. I'll put up with it for the pull and sound it makes up top.

Damn, impressive for winter tires! When I test the new launch logic I'll shoot it over so AWD cars can see if it gets the job done. I want to see a JB4 Stinger in the 3.x range 0-60. :)

You did that in the snow? That's got to be some kind of record.

Well not covered in snow, but patches here and there. Launch zone was pretty clean. all that to say not the safest thing to be driving at 200kph, and certainly not ideal conditions

I see a lot more potential. Jealous of you AWD cars now. You might just beat me in to the 11s. :)

KLR Stinger back on the board! Do you have any other mods? Intake or cat back? Secondary Cats?

I'm bumping Sym as he is .2 tenths back now even though he is track not dragy. Any objections? If it was <.05 or .1 I'd keep it.

Updated. We now have 6 cars within .19 seconds of each other. RWDs need to step up and bump the 12.29 time off. That one is starting to lag behind. :) @Jonnytig - its summer down under, go hit the track!

Thanks for keeping an updated list!

Since so many runs are within 0.1 of each other why not make it top 5 for each group? I think it will help having more cars listed by showing what upgrades achieve better times.

Or just create a Google docs spreadsheet and just list everyone.
