Dropped my ‘19 off Wed. Morning for a scheduled 42k service which includes plugs and oil. Happened to get the recall notice in the mail a few days earlier so I asked them to add it in on. He confirmed that was a good amount of work and would probably take an extra day. Friday came around and they’re still working on but said since I happened to be the first recall they got in they were taking it slow. He noted they attempted to do it without dropping the engine but determined it was necessary half way in since the part was so difficult to get at. He said they learned a lot and will be dropping the engines going forward. They also had a hard time loosening some of the bolts due to access. I told them to keep it as long as they need to ensure I get it all back in one piece and it doesn’t blow up as soon as I drive off their lot. Car has been flawless outside the common #3 plug coil/crack/heat/misfire issue serviced about 10k ago. Interesting this work is near that hot spot area again.
