Cool but I also think I saw they were going to have it so you could set the drive mode to also change the map as well

Not sure I like this though because I keep my wipers on auto and the selector tells the auto setting how sensitive it should be for rain.

I would prefer the drive mode method as well, but @Terry@BMS mentioned he couldn't find the drive mode with OBD yet.

Ahh ok, I saw him mentioning it on Facebook wasn't sure if he had figured it out or not only that it was coming in the next software update.

We're looking in to auto mode. Once we know all the options we'll come up with a few methods and put it to vote.

The problem with the mode selector is so far I don't have the command to read it via OBDII. It's also non-persistent so it resets itself every time you start the car. The intermittent switch stays where you last set it and has 5 unique options. So seems like a more natural fit to me. We've also got the command for the DSC mode and manual shift mode, so we could incorporate those also. A map is selected when DSC is pressed for example.

Interesting!

How about increasing the boost additive with the volume knob when audio is turned off?

lol believe me I played with a few options as we can read a lot of random knobs and switches. The holdup on a great solution like we offer for BMW is the lack of commands to control the Kia dash.

Need a hacker, I mean software engineer, to develop a method to load the app right into the infotainment system.

I've wondered myself why the developer of the App which my understanding is not a BMS employee hasn't made the app so that it is an Android/Apple Auto App like Waze/Spotify so that it showed up on the screen so you didn't have to use the crazy hack of using a rooted phone to mirror your screen.

There's substantial liability issues there for Terry

Neither Apple nor Google allow the displaying of manufacturer specific vehicle parameters over CarPlay/Android Auto at this time UNLESS you are an OEM. It's something I've looked into a fair bit, but there just isn't any official support from Apple or Google at this time. I'll let you all know whenever they change their policies.

Terry I’d love to test that feature out for you if you want to send the info.

People do it themselves on various platforms using various hacks but we're not able to assist directly on it. There is 0% chance the OEM's would approve a performance app like JB4 Mobile.

Terry, can you comment on effects of frequent map changes.

Takes an adaption run or two for the new map to operate at full power but generally no issues moving around. For fun I was scrolling through maps the other day during a 1/4 mile run lol.

Does it work?

Works fine, I was just testing it out to see what would happen as I'm sure customers will be doing that.
