JB4 dash map switch

Hi Terry, would it be possible that when the wiper stalk is off, we can change the map to whatever we want. then if we put the wipers on, it simply disconnect the connection so that ppl aren't switching map frequently by adjusting the rain stalk sensitivity/speed.

I, too, mostly use the auto mode and I adjust the stalk frequency button quite often and it would just change the map when I use the frequency button. However, when the stalk is just on the OFF position, it could allow us to only then change the map with the frequency/speed button - thoughts ?

That would have to be a mode3. Are you going to remember to put the setting back to where it needs to be for the correct map when you turn the wipers off?

I see what you mean ... if I dont and I put the wipers off, I could be jumping map right away ... I guess since I am only running map 1 or 2 it would be too much of an issue. No meth, no ethanol and best we can find in NS Canada is 91 @shell...

What if you never use your wipers, how do you set it for maps 2,3, & 7?

By moving the wiper intermittent setting like in the video. :)

When I attempt to enter a value of less than 0 ( like .4) for the last column it resorts back to a whole number and map 1 becomes the result of the highest intermittent setting
So it goes 0, 1, 2, 3, 1

I tried to enter .5 for map 5 and it switched to a whole number when saved and made then the highest intermittent setting became map 1 again

If I enter .5 it will error out and requires me to enter a whole number. then will save and the highest intermittent setting becomes map1. No matter what.
Running 17v

Also when wiper switch enabled I can’t change maps through the jb4 App, map can only Be changed through the wiper switch. When I disable the wiper option I can revise the maps through the jb4.
This seems all result of 17v update.
Either I use the wiper switch or the jb4 for map changes....worked before so I’m confused. Sorry for all the posts but I keep finding stuff that confuses me a bit.

I'll be watching for the answers as well.

That's expected, when the wiper map switch is enabled that is the only way you can change maps.

OK, that makes sense, can you advise why I am unable to put in a number in that last box that will allow me to make the highest intermittent setting anything else but map one? When I attempt to put in a variable less than one, like .5 it won’t except it. I would like it to make map eight available on the highest setting, but it keeps reverting back to map one or errors out when attempting to write the data

Might be a bug in the interface, waiting for that to get cleaned up to optimize it for it's new purpose.

Mode2 is available now in v17+ JB4 firmware and the latest BETA JB4 mobile app.

You can enable it in the windows app also.

Terry... maybe i'm missing something. I've updated to the latest iOS app along with firmware, (JB4_KIA_19_T4.hex). For some reason, within the WMI screen I only see External Output, and not Extneral Trigger.

I'm sure it's another setting somewhere, just wanted to reach out to see what might be wrong.

The FW in the jb4 app when connected shows 21//19/5, is that correct?

Same thing.
