JB4 dash map switch

Works fine, I was just testing it out to see what would happen as I'm sure customers will be doing that.
I could think of a way to be faster with that.
Manual boost by gear.

More like you start a race on map2, you're losing, so kick it up to map3 lol. Or out on the track if you want to change the torque profile on the fly during a racing session.

We can't link it to different profiles of the same map right? For example additive 50 and 70

I could add a setting so the dial instead controls your WMI additive rather than map. :)

If the map change is seamless I would like to give it a try!
I really like how JB4 adds not only performance but also fun to the car experience.

At the end of the day it's about making the system easy to use and fun. Updates like this are what set the JB4 apart from all the JB4-wanna-be systems out there.

Working on getting the app interface updated to make the setting entry a little easier. This is currently how you enter the maps to select on the wiper setting.

I like it, except for the "switches to whatever mode is active when you turn off wipers" part - that part is the only part I don't like.

For example, if I have map3 set up on setting 3 for those times I have E30+, and then need the setting for the wipers because it actually rained.. I forget about map switching, turn wipers off, and because I'm only running 91, safety kicks in and into limp mode I go..

I don't suppose there's a way to hit one button first, and THEN map switching is active for 5 seconds? And if you don't push that button first (rear defrost or something?), map switching doesn't happen?

Edit: but still, really cool

I prefer map 0 when wipers are running.. We plan to add different mods when interface is updated to allow more than 0 and 1 in that field. :)

Terry,
I have the wiper setting as 1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 0.2. It is working as intended, but it keeps the map settings even when the wipers are on. It even switches map when I change the intermittent setting on auto/lo/hi. I am on v15 firmware. Any setting to turn off jb4 when wipers are on?

Not yet, too many people cried about racing in the rain. Next app update we'll allow "enabled" to allow a setting of 2 which will enable the feature with JB4 going to map0 when wipers are on.

lol, I didn't know that was changed. I was going by the video and thought it was strange. I can live with that I guess.

I want to add a vote to tie map setting to drive mode. For a casual driver like myself, I drive on comfort with map 0 most of the time. So switching the sport mode with map of your choosing would be perfect. Whenever I restart my car, it would then default to comfort/map 0(or whatever map you default to in app). For more advanced users, you can enable the wiper change on top to give more control.

Natural selection will weed those people out.

Racing in the rain is about as smart as driving with your eyes closed.

Preaching to the choir but you'd be surprised how many concerned messages we got over it lol. There will be a setting for both formats soon.

Loaded up v15 firmware today and went on a drive to do some testing. I setup my switch for maps 0-4. I too noticed when running the wipers it retained the current map, which is my preference. Everything seemed to work as advertised. No problems switching maps while driving and it was accurately reflected in the JB4 Mobile app. Couple questions, is old map 7 now the new map 5 and these settings wouldn't change anything with the WMI installation correct?

map 0
map 1
map 2
map 3
map 4 (old map 5)
map 5 (old map 7)
map 6
map 7 (old map 8)
map 8 (old map 4)

Looks about right to me

Is this available with v15?

What did it do when turning wipers off?

Enable mode 1, which is the only mode you can select currently in the app, leave JB4 enabled while wipers run. Later we'll enable mode 2 which is the same as mode 1 only it disables the JB4 when wipers are enabled.
