Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

It is usual that exhaust get louder as the material in the mufflers pack over time.

Interesting... does anyone know if our stock mufflers have fiberglass or other material inside? I assumed they were all metal.

When I started and revved a new-off-the-truck Stinger I remember it being quieter than my own with some test drive miles. Mine seems to have gotten a bit louder after a while as well - not complaining.

I’ve noticed with my jun-bl exhaust. And the radio on low I can’t hear the tick tock when I signal. I really thought it stopped making the sound. Lol

When radio is on and you activate 360 camera for parking purposes whilst moving forward the volume will automatically reduce.

Yes this really annoys me, same as when you are in reverse and the volume seems to reduce.

It’s to give the parking sensors priority on the audio so you don’t hit anything. Pointless having warning tones if the radio is blaring at top volume of your favourite song.

Wouldn't be surprised if they lumped "reverse warnings", in with "nav" for this choice?

Went for a drive last night and discovered that the headlights NOW move and aim with the front wheels. A really nice feature that the car didn't have when I got it. It is very obvious and not easy to miss. I saw references to it in the owner's manual, always including, "if equipped with. . . . " Never could find anything in any of the setup options to enable / disable or control it. The only thing I can figure out is perhaps the last software update changed something that caused it to start working.

Anyone know of some secret switch to control this? Just in case it goes away again, because I really like the feature.

Dynamic Bending Lights (if equipped :D) turn on when you put the headlight switch in the "Auto" position.

Here's a new one for me. When you leave the wipers in auto mode they will engage when you start the car via remote start. Not good if the wipers are still frozen to the windshield :/

Or even if the windshield is dry; that wears out blades quickly. The main reason why blades need replacing often is because OCD dictates that no water drops be allowed, ergo mostly dry windshield, which drags on the blades.

Front door window glass is double glazed but rear is single.

Third winter, and I only now noticed that if the below 40F warning *dings*, then the service warranty wrench icon and miles to service won't show (low temp warning takes precedence). :P

-40F is cold enough that who cares about what is running well, if it's running, you're warm - priority 1.

My new car has the audacity to ding every time if falls below 3 degrees Celsius, so I get a ding every day all winter to remind me it's cold, and I can't figure out how to remove the warning. A bit rude if you ask me.

This car talks too much in general. I've nicknamed it Chatty Cathy.

It's +40F, or +4C for us Canucks.... Most cars now have this potential ice warning that was a rarity twenty years ago.

Don't know who all knows but the Z31 Nissan 300ZX from the mid 80's was nicknamed the "Bitching Betty" because it loved talking to the owner. "Your sealbelt is not buckled," "Your door is open." All with a wonderful robotic 80's voice LOL.

I so do not miss that LOL Nissan was big on that at the time, most Japanese cars were tbh. I blame Knight Rider for that poorly thought out fad.
Also never forget "The Door is ajar... repeat ad infinitum until you closed it or just disabled the damn door switch. *evil grin*
