Cool. I hope this feature never has to get used by me! :P (And I have not locked the glovebox even once thus far.)

Has it been mentioned that when you cross into a new time zone you're alerted by a pop-up on the infotainment screen? Nice touch.

Smart trunk release (GT2). Per the manual, if the car is locked and you approach the rear of the car, the smart trunk will automatically open. I found that this only works if you had locked the car using the key fob or the door handle. If you lock the car while exiting using the arm rest lock, the smart trunk opening on approach, doesn't work.

Sorry. The lock on the inside of the door where the controls for the windows, etc.

Yup, I figured that was the area you meant, I had just never thought of using that switch to lock the car while exiting; wasn’t aware you could. I’ve always used the fob or door handle. So open door, press lock, close door and it stays locked? Cool.

Don't press until you get out. I use this door locking method to keep my mirrors from swiveling inward; saves the motors. :) I only lock my car with the mirrors still out when I park at home under my carport.

It took me the longest time to be able to reach down and find the lock button in the dark. Those buttons are not lighted.

anyone know why the design of the wiper tray (for lack of a better term) has an opening on the driverside nearer the hood edge, and the right side (passenger side) encapulates all the way to the hood edge??

Mmmm wasn’t aware this method stopped mirrors from swivelling inwards. Might just keep using the fob. Thanks for the tip.
No idea either, prefer to press the door handle pad and know that it's locked when I see the mirrors fold.

So I'm not sure if this has been brought up. Sometimes when I have a lot of things in the trunk and close the trunk its caught between completely close and slightly ajar. I call it the in between. I notice that when that happens the trunk doesnt pop open when I repressthe button. I have the GT1 by the way. No auto lift gate. It has happened to me a couple of time and it freaks me out. But usually I'll give it some time and repress the botton on the lift gate then itll pop the trunk. I dont know it it's a delay or a random thing. I'll catch myself pressing the button on the fob and maybe that has something to do with reopening it. It's really annoying. Anyone without an auto lift gate ran into this issue?

i need to start doing this...I 'm not concerned about the motors perse, but the freezing temps and a lce coating is never a good mix when stuff wants to move but can't.

I haven't seen that particular problem with my auto lift gate, but it has sort of the opposite problem. About 1 in 10 times it's will automatically close again after opening, which is really annoying when I don't wait and start loading or unloading and the thing tries to close on my head.

Hadn't noticed. But if there is an opening at all, it is a drain. No need for two of them.

Well, there is that audible, palpable "Clunk" sound as all four doors lock. I like saving hardware wear and tear as much as possible. It's the reason why I get annoyed with my wife when she combs her hair in the car and drops the passenger window just enough to put her dislodged hairs out the window! Just put the hair in a tissue and dispose of it when we stop, don't run the window down and up needlessly like that! Grr!

Yes. I just push the hatch lid down all the way and it latches, then lift up and it opens. I think i've tried the fob opening button too, and it opened all the way. But fumbling for the fob is not as efficient as pushing down firmly to finish latching the lid, then reopening it.

I believe that it's designed to stop trying to open if it meets enough resistance, and closes. This may be an adjustment. I'd keep an eye on it and mention it to my dealer next time I went in.
