How to launch on boost

I tried 4 times today and it pulled through every single time. I tried slowly building revs and flooring it and it never held. Has anyone with RWD been able to do this without pulling through? It definitely builds boost and if I wanted I could have spun through I don't even know what gear, but it won't hold on my car.

Yes, you have to go seriously light on the throttle until it locks up though. Try ~5% throttle.

I hate to even say this, but because I did it at first, maybe others have... I set the brake, but didn't hold it up. Felt like a dummy when I realized I had to hold it up during this process.

When I held it up while building rpm it occasionally crept forward. When it did this, I abruptly let off throttle completely without releasing the e-brake and then immediately reapplied throttle. By doing this, it stuck. I haven't done it more than today so I have no idea about finding methods to make it stick consistently but it seems others have had success in achieving this.

Hmm. Ill try again later. Thanks for the tip.

So big news everyone.. staged at the drag 5 times and never pulled thru once. Hit a 1.86 as my best time on map 5 on map 5 of 7 on the race chip... I had a 12.3 as my best time too... I'll post videos tomorrow! I can add a 4.8 trans am on a 75 shot to the kill list along with a tuned mazdaspeed 3...

12.3 is a great time! Good Job

Looking forward to see the videos.

I am going to the track tomorrow trying to make history and get some practice before the Import faceoff event on Sunday that I am competing on with the Stinger at Joliet raceway.

Road to 11.8........

1.86 60ft is pretty damn good

Post the slip in the quarter mile forum and be added to the list

Mine still seems to creep forward after 2500, how is everyone getting it to settle and not move? Seems like I can’t ever replicate it
Mine always creeps as well starting at 1500 typically and less than a quarter throttle.

I’ve tried this a million variations now. Maybe I’m running too much boost and it’s causing it to pull through (rwd). I can try retarding the boost back in 1st to accommodate, but I feel like I’m still doing something incorrect. It would be nice to see videos of those getting over 2500rpm and no creeping forward and the process they do.

I’ve gotten it to hold slightly above LC limits, but that’s it. Anything above it starts to creep.

I think the strength of the e brakes vary. I would think RWD would hold better since that is where the ebrake is.

4th run in 87 degree humid weather after driving an hour to get to the track... there ya go boys, now change history... videos coming soon

I tried it again last night and was able to leave on 11psi according to my jb4 log. Screenshots attached. This was on an incline as well, AWD, k&n filters.
Can you add a screen shot that shows Throttle, RPM and boost?

Holy crap. I don't think I've seen anyone come close to this yet
I've hit 1.83 many times but 1.80 is definitely the fastest.
