I noticed it questioned it and not one thing was said about my car not preforming as they marketed it. Like everyone said my call today was smoke blowed up my but! I may have went with another car if I knew I was castrated from the start. My sticker just said optional wheels included.

So you got the optional slower car option. I wish the sticker says right on it stating ECU Limited to 140mph when you brought the car.

The LAP3 tuner will get rid of that limit right? Did anyone ever determine if you need to buy one or two units for that? I know there was some debate a while back. I'd say do that, and you'll end up with so much more horsepower even the stock W summer tires won't be rated fast enough. Drive the hell out of your all-seasons then replace them with some Y tires rated up to 186mph.

NO no no! I asked why they put the diff. Tires on. That was the only way I could get it here (no disclosures) NOTHING!!!! was said about them limiting it. Someone hit the nail on the head. It was dishonest of KIA!!
When I called my dealer today I got the same BS that someone else on here did. I was told it would go 165 mph. and my salesman man acted supprised that a woman would drive the shit out of a car. Why? (Almost short of saying that I was lying). So, I am 5 foot with a bad attitude. I can't be an adrenaline junky?

I don't believe the lap3 will change it. The lap3 is a piggyback type chip that tricks how much boost the computer sees. The electronic limiter will still hit at whatever it is set to. You would have flash or replace the actual ECU to change the electronic limiter.

I can certainly understand the frustration, but Kia's lawyers will be sure to point out that it is documented in at least one place, folks. From page 20 in the brochure ...

So when they sell you 18 inch tires with awd they put a limiter on your car as well? or will the limiter go away if you remove the 18 inch?

I wonder if it's a US thing or every stinger has this ?

It never goes away. If it comes with 18s, it's limited that way from the factory.

Yes, congratulations you managed to make the "limited speed" larger then KIA! Mind you only in one book can you find that. Now, let's put in to prospective their bull shit advertisements!

Well, until you flash the ECU at least. It'll never go away on its own of course, but it's not like the actual car is somehow physically limited or has any less power. Kia really should be up front about that.

Trust me on this, with corporate pencil pushers they will use even just one little image against the little guy/gal.

Now where you might have a case of complaint or file one, is if this was not advertised or showed to you when you bought the car. They have to be upfront (but which dealership is) about this.

It is like selling a 6 speed bike with only 4 working speeds, hidden in a brochure not shown to you can make it a case. You just need to make noise with others

Yep, that's correct.
See that is stupid on kia's part

Sure you can put a 18 inch all season tire on there, but they shouldn't limit the speed electronically.
I mean there are all season 18 inch with Y rating for 186mph

Yeah but they'd cost more. Kia obviously wants to pinch every penny they can since they won't even include a $10 wireless charger in the American spec Stinger :P

Yeh every manufacture has their budget . I mean in some german cars bluetooth was like a $2000 option at once. probably still is

They was Not up front! I ASKED about the difference in the tiers. Just like I asked today how fast MY car would go and was told 165 mph! However, I know this is the dishonest book. Put out by the "pencil pushing prick" lawyers. They are asking us to all bend over! Hell, I did a lot of research on this car before I even looked at it, including video's & articles. Went to the dealer multiple times.

Make noise! O" trust me I will! I will be trying to twist the auto magazines ear with letters to the editors. I will be looking at a lawyer! Not, only for this car but for another lemon that involved KIA! My goal is to dissuade any perspective buyer's!

They, did get a lot right on the Stinger! Overall I like my car. I don't have plans to drive it all 139mph every day. For that matter most months! However, I can not stand dishonest!

They will find out that I am not the typical female they run over. Life has taught me that too many boys think they can run all over the female race. Well, stand back and watch while this grown ass woman leads the charge!

your attitude man or woman is not going to get you anywhere

an inept salesperson giving you the wrong information gives you no leg(s) to stand on

We're not really "allowed" to go that fast, and penalties are somewhat stiff for getting caught, but some people like to do it anyway.

I mean, it's not likely that the entire throttle map has been changed to make the vehicle top out at that speed... It likely pulls just as hard to 140MPH as it would to any other speed within its capabilities.

I think the dissatisfaction lies in the fact that Kia didn't seem to document this anywhere, be it within the published specs, or in the Owner's Manual, etc. I can understand feeling misled by that fact.

Hell, it might even be in some fine print somewhere, but I've never seen it.
Yes, it is mentioned in the micro print. I found one place it mentioned a speed reduction 5x7 book. Also, on the back of the 8x10 brochure they hint to the speed reduction. I snapped a picture so we can all appreciate
KIA's dishonesty!
