So the 18” wheel is a all season package which limited to 130mph in the USA, which the buyer picks?

Actually I'm thinking this petition should be a thread on its own. @Kia Stinger , maybe this should be in the section to "letters to KIA?"
most of us had no choice,no option,no information , no nothing just disappointment.
That dont mean that what you saying isn't true, or make since. I agree, I had a shortage sx before the stinger, 2.0 turbo charged and it would run 142mph. NO KIDDING! really liked that car, it would run up these mountains as fast as you care to go. Great in the snow, the awd was the best, kia really has one the best awd systems. Please read up on it , it will make you proud to own one. It outdone Subaru easy. Dont sell that 2.0 short, I believe if the top speed is a no issue, then the 2.0 turbo will make you happy. All of this is true. But what it leaves out is that the roll-out of this car was/is very chaotic and unorganized. There was not as much info for early adopters. When the Korean spec models arrived at dealerships, and even to this day, we knew more about the car than they did. There were no commercials. As best I can remember the first commercial aired in February around the Super Bowl. That's a few months after the car launched.
That's where the big disconnect is. The later adopters say "Do your research. Kia mentions it brochures, commercials, etc." This is insulting to early adopters, who did do research, but the 137 limit was not in such a prominent place as it is now. Sure it may have existed in extremely fine print on a brochure that they weren't given, but it wasn't even on Kia's website until later. Yes caveat emptor applies, but Kia should fix this because they dropped the ball. Just my two cents. I don't have a dog in this fight; I'm in the market for the 2.0 anyway.
The KIA website clearly shows a limit of 130 mph with the 18" wheel and tire package.

you are uninformed ! read the early threads ........................Anybody who bought any car, with expectations of driving it @ 140+, yet was totally oblivious to the fact it came on speed rated 18" all season tires frankly has no business driving a performance car, and DEFINITELY NOT AT 140+. If you were an uninformed buyer, that's your problem. Thank God KIA did the legal and appropriate and limited the speed governor to align to tire spec. Else I can't imagine how many idiot's would have killed themselves or other trying to show off how cool they were trying to hit 170 on all season tires cause the commercials said they could.( Fine print doesn't matter)
you are uninformed ! read the early threads ........................
Haha... Yes I read 25 pages.. And yes. I'm the uninformed one. I'm the one who bought a car wearing all season tires, imaging I was going to be racing around at speeds which require a skill and vehicle capability beyond 99% percent of drivers and cars.
I'm the one imagining I can no longer do that due to some perceived purposeful deceit on the part of KIA.
I'm the one imagining a world my poor understanding of the product should be remedied by the manufacture. (Not withstanding federal motor vehicle safety standards compelling the vehicles manufacturer comply with speed load ratings of its tires)
And see. That's the thing. This is an imagined problem. You've lost nothing. Your stinger is still the same great GT it always was.
Nowhere in North America one is legally permitted to drive any where near those speeds. If you bought your stinger to race at a track( and it would have to be a hell of a big track to reach 170 with 365hp) you would probably void your warranty and any legal obligation from Kia as it's not designed to be a race car. You might as well tune it then if you're racing
So again, what did you tangibly lose, not imagined? Seems like most people in this thread are upset over bragging rights, or that something they believed is no longer true. Your stinger is no less a quick accelerating, well appointed, great value GT. Is an amazing vehicle. Be happy.. Be proud.
If the one dude had not found out first hand and "TAKEN TO THE INTERNET" to complain, 99.99% of people would never have have known any different. So again I ask... What did you lose, and how was Kia responsible?
Trolling is against the fourms rules and as a member I perceive the brow whipping a form of aggressive trolling!Given that the remediation you seek is not supported by law and contrary to fmvss regulation.... Complain to your heart's content. I didn't realize that the truth is trolling to some. The fact that you don't like the truth is not reason enough to tell others they shouldn't speak it. Freedom right?
