The same company sells a remote starter. I have the package in my optima. 6 bucks a month for the service..

The drone is an upgrade for any of the compustar brand remote starters. It can be purchased as a package or individually. I have had the drone on many cars currently and in the past. I always buy and install the base model compustar that accepts the drone option. The drone is basically an additional module added to the remote starter that uses cellular and wireless service allowing you to communicate between your remote starter and your mobile phone.

Another great thing about compustar is that they are a leader in developing the correct modules and install techniques for every specific car to make installation and programming easy.

I’m not sure if they have developed a easy module for the stinger yet but I will find out once I receive my new stinger.

i've been a Compustar/Drone Mobile customer/user for 5 years now, had it in my Hyundai Sonata, Dodge Avenger, Kia Optima, Kia Cadenza and now i want it in my Kia Stinger but unfortunately they have not released it for install in this model yet. I'm in constant contact with Compustar techs and my local installer. they are working on it and trust me, I'll hopefully be the first to have it installed.

Mine is being 8nstalled Tuesday. Been using drone for my last three cars, Optima, cadenza and cadenza. Sucks I just 8nstalled the OEM starter 2 weeks ago but oh well, nothing beats Drone.

Could we use this drone remote start to remote start the car and not have it turn off when you open the doors? Or run the rear defrost on really cold days ?

Yes, the firmware allows for takeover. Opening a door will not shut off the car

Can you elaborate on which model is it that you are having installed on yours so I dont buy thr wrong one, was going to call compustar tomorrow.

I would appreciate the info, Im considering installing myself, I have zero experience but Ive learn that with some common sense and a youtube video you can move mountains lol. Wish me luck

As far as I know it's a simple t harness so should be pretty much plug and play. Hardest part is probably accessing the harnesses

My car is in the shop right now getting done, when I pick it up later I'll get the details from my I staller.
