I just called Compustar. They said the remote start and Drone could be successfully installed.
Compustar remote start - model DC3
Drone - model DR5400 (LTE)
They gave me the phone number for a local installer. The installer said it would be $500 total (including installation). Your existing Kia key fob will control the remote start, plus the smartphone app if you add Drone. Just like the factory Kia remote start, this will also have the unfortunate feature of turning your car off when opening the car door. I asked if they could find a workaround.
I’m also adding EZ GO. It will lock/unlock your car when you are within 5 feet of the car. $150 for this add on.
The Drone is a monthly fee of $5.99 (first month is free) to remote start and lock/unlock via app on your smartphone from any distance. It gets cheaper if you do yearly. I’m doing $129 which covers 3 years.
It’s $11.99 a month if you add GPS tracking and speed notifications.
My install is this Thursday.

Price is relatively fair including install.
I think the last unanswered question is the heating / cooling of the cabin. I assume the best this system can do (if at all) is what the last setting was for HVAC. Probably not able to initiate the heating/cooling seats nor steering wheel heater at all.

You can bypass the no takeover. I'll get the info from my installer, picking up the car on an hour

The HVAC should turn on it’s last setting. No option for turning on heated seats or steering wheel.

Okay folks, just got the car back from the installer. works perfect. so happy to have my Drone Mobile back and the no takeover bypassed. hardware installed....Compustar FTDC3 and then the DC3RX and DC3PWR harness. works like a charm, remote start, open door, shut door and put it in gear, don't even have to push the start button anymore. good luck. oh, and as far as the HVAC questions, the last user setting is what will be active when the car is started except for seats and stearing wheel obviously since they are hard buttons and not "always on/off"

Did everything at Tint Plus in Woodbridge, VA. Highly recommend this location!
Just completed my Compustar/Drone/EZGO install today. Everything is working great, can even start my car from my Apple Watch.

EZGO is great too because it locks/unlock when you are 5-10ft from the car.

just a quick follow up, after you remote start using drone, make sure your doors are locked, if you remote start with doors unlocked and then open the door/hatch, the car will shut down. car has to be locked prior to remote starting then you can unlock it and enter and drive off.

I've always had EZGO, was advised couldnt do it this time as the new firmware does not support it and also Compustar discontinued it.
