Defeats

Lost but it was close, 2016 Mustang running E85 with intake and exhaust. 60mph roll till we just ran out of room. We where around 130-140 when we stopped. Ill be getting WMI here soon and then take him out, LOL.

Was he FI? I can't imagine NA gets much benefit from E85? I saw a couple of articles where they gained 20-30 hp on a Coyote with E85, but they were already at 500+. 20 hp more at 500, sure it'll make a tiny difference (4%), but doesn't seem worth it if you need to replace pump, injectors, etc..

You know I don't know if he was or not, but I really do not think he was.

I mean, based on power levels, I doubt it - FI would be > 700 hp, probably, and leave you in the dust from 60 mph+.

Just doesn't seem like it's worth doing E85 on a NA car, unless the injectors have lots of headroom and you gain a little.. or E85 is SUPER cheap.

Just did a quick google and it looks like you can run stock injectors as long as you keep the stock intake manifold. The only requirement would be a custom tune for the E85 setup. Now is that 100% I have ZERO clue, but thats what Dr. Google is telling me.

Yeah, it's possible - I just don't see that you get more than 20-30 hp out of it. Our '15 Town and Country runs E85, but doesn't make any more power.

I lost an autobahn race to a 3.3L

I entered the autobahn and saw a black Stinger fly by with arround 200Km/h. I was like wait for meeee. So I floored it and caught up to him because of traffic.
He clearly had no time, because every time the car in front of him moved over, he floored it. As he noticed I'm with him, we had races to top speed every time we could ( 6-7 Times total ) problem was, mine is limited to 240Km/h his is 260Km/h. Some times he moved over so I led. At top speed I moved over so he led again. We battled like that over a distance of 50Km until he left the autobahn :D as he left I drove next to him and gave him a piece sign, he did the same. Both of us had the biggest grin in our face.

but I have to say, his car has, as we all know 360HP mine 255. He didn't put that much of a gap on me as I thougt he would.
so Autobahn races at high speeds, with a safe gap to the car in front, don't really tell to much.

Lost to a Charger scat pack tonight, but he was only inching on me. I think that pissed him off. When we came up in some cars I went around him and ended up at a stop light with a Camry to my left. The Charger came up behind me real close, backed up turned into the turn only lane and did a burnout through the intersection on a red light. I think I hurt someone’s feelings.

Damn. If that set him off, hate to see what he would have done if you had pulled on him.

I lost against a tuned GT-R R35. I don't know why I even tried (I'm stock).

So I had a 2015 Mustang GT with Lund Racing Tune which, among other tunes, contained an E85 tune and I had to do nothing else to the vehicle at all. The stock fuel pump, lines, and injectors are all built to handle the lines no problem. I also had intake, long tube catless headers, and catback exhaust for power mods. I could switch maps at anytime, while stopped, and can say that there was a huge difference between the 91 vs E85. E85 was also quite a bit cheaper, still is, so it was worth it to me. Gas mileage did suffer from poor driving habits haha. Combine the power with the sounds of the exhaust and you always want to hear/feel it.

I never put it on the dyno but at the time, comparing other peoples same builds it was probably around 475whp/480ftlbs. I know the new models have an updated Coyote motor now and make even more power stock so someone with same mods now is probably at like 500whp/510ftlbs if I had to guess.

Here's a quick video of my car idling while I was doing some light painting photography.

Props for going for it! I love making obviously faster cars run with me just to see them take off haha

I guess they're pushing the compression on these newer motors to the point that they NEED maybe 95 to run at 100% power, and relying on ECU / sensors to pull timing to match fuel? That's pretty impressive - in the past, there was no way you could do that and be reliable in the long term.

I've read that the mk7 gti (got a base model for the wife) can handle up to E30 (and make more power) on the factory tune. In fact, it's not really running all that great on 91.. Of course, that's a 2.0T, so a little different. Everyone generally agrees that you get more hp with FI + E85. I didn't realize you could now do something similar with an NA engine.

If not for a civic that merged onto the highway at a snail's pace, I would have been walked by a tuned Q50 red sport with exhaust. I got the jump but he closed the gap quickly and was inching until I had to shut it down for the slow ass civic in my lane. I'll call this one a defeat since it's clear I would have lost if we had had more room.

You got any mods?

I had a similar experience yesterday...charger came flying up behind me so I moved over. He pulled along side briefly and then punched it. I was slow to reach so he got a 1/2 car gap and slowly pulled to 1 car length where we basically stayed until hitting traffic. Not sure if he was stock, but the exhaust sounded good.

I got walked hard by an SRT Jeep. We started around 100 km/h and let off around 200 km/h as we went through a speed trap. Luckily to cop must not have had the gun up or paying attention as he didn't pull out.

Anyway, the jeep left me in its dust. I was in the wrong gear when we got on it, but I don't think it would have made a difference. That thing was fassstttttt.
Exactly the same as my experience- same vehicle. I'm 0/1. Mind you no one else has attempted a drag.

The performance model is significantly faster than the stock, yes.

The Tesla should get you off the line if the driver is competent - electric motors have max torque at 0rpm, so as long as they have traction, a Tesla should beat pretty much any non-electric car off the line.
Would be nice to have an electric motor just for launch assist. That's a hybrid I could embrace!

Hmm. Stock SRT Jeep is 4.4 0-60, 12.8-12.9 1/4 mile (based on some SRT Jeep forum postings). Slightly slower than a Charger / Challenger SRT. Since we're *THIS* close to a Charger SRT, shouldn't we more or less be able to keep up? I think the Jeep is AWD, which may help it from a dig. From a roll, I think we slowly lose. With jb4, we should win.

Unless of course, Jeep Trackhawk (i.e. Hellcat Jeep with 700+ HP). In that case, the oil companies win :-)
