Crash

I gotta know the details on this? Everyone okay?
"General" says the car is drivable. He got it at auction, so, no details are known, as far as I know. :D

I contacted the previous owner and both him and his passenger seem fine. All the airbags went off so it must have been a big hit. As Merlin said the car runs and drives.

You guys think there is any frame damage on this one?
I took the car to the service depertmant because I found oil on one of the spark plugs, they refused to cover the warranty because they believe “the accident caused the damage.” Then they told me that I was in a front end collision (which is incorrect) and that I should have my insurance cover the damages.

They also made something up about the turbocharger being loose which is a complete lie because when I took off the cold air intake ithe turbo was completely stationary and set. (F.Y.I, I drove the car for 500 miles after the accident and the engine was completely fine)

So I took it in for one problem and they hit me with something out of left field which was completely irrelevant to my problem. What should I do? The service depertmant is being really difficult, there’s no arguing with them.

Find another dealer.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
They “already put it in the system” as you would say, or is that just a myth.
They will say anything to get more money. Can't hurt to ask around. If the car is already repaired then it shouldn't be a problem.

Theoretically speaking, would I be able to directly swap a 3.3L GT engine for my busted 2.0L engine. Obviously I would have to get the downpipe and midpipe, but is there anything else that would hinder me from swapping engines? Wiring harnesses, etc...

Yes. All wiring in the engine bay, ECU, and most likely the entire drivetrain including differential, transmission and TCU, brakes. Not sure on suspension.

Shouldn't cost much more than a new GT..

Everything would be a problem. Wire harness, radiator support, radiator assembly, oil cooler. Might as well do an LS swap.

If you have to ask... you would be in WAY over your head.. Do you have access to dealer tools to code the keys to your new ECU / TCU / etc? Known as BIU on a Subaru. My 2005 Legacy had BIU errors just from letting it sit with a dead battery for a few weeks. Errors coming up on the display.

In general (IMHO), this was pretty simple in 1970s, not too hard in the 80s, a bit of a pain in the 90s, a lot of work in the 00s, next to impossible in the 10s, and forget-about-it level of difficulty in 2020 and on.

3.3 GT engine + Motec conversion would be a lot simpler - but that's like $7500 on top of the engine + everything else. AND you wouldn't be street legal, if your state does any kind of smog testing..

Might actually be cheaper to buy a GT and put 2.0 badges on it (do the little ones come with 2.0 badges?)

Someone here recently was talking about doing that, right?

The same dealership that told me my accident caused engine damages also told me that there is $6k in damages on the car. They said the radiator is damaged, the front bumper was ripped off, and a bunch of other things. I posted pictures of what the car looks like before I had it towed over to the dealership. Can anyone justify the cost of these damages. (I had the parts painted at a separate shop for $300 total, they quoted me $800 just for paint)

I have no idea what you hit but by the pics it looks like a glancing blow. Have them list and itemize every single damaged part. Then talk to them. And they better not charge for that, as they say it's "broken". Also how the heck did that blow damage the radiator? It's no where near it. The bumper was hit and could have popped off. Well in the pic it looks like the bumper is on the car. I am so confused, need more info for sure. Also paint is pretty expensive of you want it done right. Unless you know a guy, as I will probably get mine all done under 1k.

I’m just as confused as you are. The bumper had barely any damage on it and I still had it replaced. I posted a pic of the aftermath of the accident previous in this thread. I will post another one to show you how little the bumper was affected.

Your headlights changed to LED? More mystery. :D
They said the radiator is damaged,
You drove 500 miles on a "damaged radiator"? How can they assert such rip off crap?

Well the hit could have pushed on the headlight which in turn pushed on the radiator support which in turn pushed on the radiator. But that's a far stretch, the headlight would just shatter under the force and take the blunt of it. And the support for it are also plastic, so they will break before the support will bend. You don't take the car to get an insurance quote? After it was damaged?

Experimented with changing from the standard Halogen to LED but then changed back to Halogen after a few issues with the LED headlight.
There would be issues, wire harness and ECU are different.

I knew they were full of it as soon as they hit me with the “Dude you need a whole new engine” and “Bro there’s $6k in damages on your car.” I already filed a complaint and opened a case with consumer Kia because this is just ridiculous.
