Canadian Buyers - How much did you pay vs. MSRP?

I just got my GT Limited from Lockwood Kia in Oakville. It was pre-owned with only 1600 km on it. The price for the car was $46,000. Lockwood also gave me the best offer for my trade-in (they actually met my offer). Props to Lockwood, they were great to deal with. Not only were they 100% able to meet my schedule, they did a good job cleaning up the car for me. At that price and condition, and the coincidence of it being exactly the interior and exterior color I wanted meant I didn't even have to think.
Wow, a pre-owned already?

I also got mine at Lockwood (pre-ordered it). Paid MSRP $49,995 + $200 paint + fees + HST. They waived the admin fee and threw in their usual 6 free oil changes.

No, I don't mean to mislead. $50,000+HST. I think it was $47390+200 Paint +16 tire tax+ 100 wheel locks +1785 Freight 10 OMVIC + 499 PDI
My trade in I left out because everyone's trade is different. Also, I just sold my other car privately, so the offer sheet happened to be a little cleaner.

Hi all, I've been lurking the forum for about a month looking at this car and I think I am now interested in pulling the trigger. I've been discussing a red Stinger GT Limited with the Kia dealership here in Nanaimo and so far they have offered (5yr lease):

$51,261 with rear bumper protector, all weather floor mats and cover my maintenance for 5 years or 50,000km. I've attached the quote for reference (maybe I'm reading it wrong). Mind you, I probably wont hit 50k within the 5 years either.

I'm thinking of asking them for $1k lower to seal the deal, but I wanted to know what my fellow canucks thought of the existing offer he put in front of me.

It looks like K-Rock has gotten the lowest price so far?

I dont NEED a car at the moment (have SUV + motorbike) , so I am in no immediate rush...

Appreciate the input!

I appreciate the advice I got here from different people, especially Jon Lasich regarding pricing, and he may have a bit better deal than me. It's not so much a competition as just making sure I didn't leave too much money on the table. Month to month dealer differences and buying vs leasing may be apples and oranges, but I'm very honest that I'm shopping for the best deal and then I'm a very straight shooter. It's very amicable.

OK, so my Stinger GT Limited (red) is on order and arriving tomorrow. Here's what we settled on:
- $50,500 price +PDI/AC/Tire tax/etc
- All maintenance work for 5 yrs or 50,000km
- Trunk protector / all weather mats

Now to get the windows tinted and badge work done!

Have you seen any others in Nanaimo ??

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Do you guys think it's possible to get the monthly payments down to $500 with 0 down?
I'm guessing the residual can't be 40% that it is now.

Thanks.

I just bought my Stinger GT Limited a couple weeks ago...had 5 KMs on it. Window sticker was $54080. I was able to settle on $51000 which includes Stinger all weather floor mats and trunk cargo tray. Typical free car washes for life as well ;)

I just picked up a GT Limited. $1850 off MRSP + 200 gas card + 200 service credit (used towards tint) and the no-charge maintenance for 5 years or 50K. I had to fight hard and shop at multiple locations to get a discount on this car. I think the only reason I did get a discount is because they wanted to clear out the 2018 stock. I like nothing more then a good deal, but I do hope the dealers stay strong and KIA doesn't discount this car like it does the Optima. If they don't, I think the car will see some decent trade-in values.

Which dealership was this?

GT base $500 off msrp with floormats thrown in and $2250 above book value on my trade in. Man you guys with the 5 yrs free service are killing me. I wish I got that included.

Same here, wish I got free service! I'm still waiting for the cargo liner that the dealer promised me 8 months ago...

'Free' service is just another tool they can use to obfuscate the deal - same as trade-ins, 'free' accessories, etc. If you are getting free anything, you are not getting the lowest price on the car itself - guaranteed. They love to work service and accessories into the deal, because their contribution is only dealer cost - but the perceived retail value to the purchaser is much higher. Same thing with undercoating, protective film, window tints, etc.

If they promised you a cargo liner 8 months ago, you'd better get after them. I picked mine up over the counter from dealer stock, and other people who've had them come in from Korea have only waited a few weeks at most - they get shipments from Korea frequently. Sounds like you're being stalled ... o_O

Oh, for sure I'm being stalled!

Isn't the free service for 5 years 50,000 km's a Kia Canada thing? It's right on the Kia website under "special offers" for the 2018 Stinger.

Yeah that wasn't there when I bought about 4 weeks ago. :(
