Canadian Buyers - How much did you pay vs. MSRP?

I paid $38,500 CAD in Alberta for a GT Limited in July 2019. It had both tinted windows and 3M on the front.

... BUT mine was USED with 14,000 km. Still, an amazing deal if you ask me though.
You got a great deal. I contacted a dealership here in Ontario today for a Demo 2020 Stinger GT. This guy wanted me to pay MSRP for it and it had about 9000 km on it. All he took off was the freight, tire tax and ac tax. I asked for $5000 off on top of the $2000 he was giving but it seems like he's not even interested to negotiate that figure. I thought it was pretty fair considering the amount of kilometers it has. I guess he begs to differ. He then offered me to do 5.99% financing so I can get the 4k from Kia and 2k discount from him leading me to believe I'd get 6k off MSRP. Told him how people got that same deal but with 2.99% for a NEW Stinger not a Demo. I kindly declined shortly after.

Here's an update!
So after dealing with a bunch of dealers, seems like there were no 2020 Stinger's really left, all of them turned out to be demo's with 5000+ km (one even being 12000 km). Orangeville Kia told me from the beginning that they can't possibly get me a 2020 model and I appreciate them so much for that. What you all said about Orangeville Kia was 100% accurate. They get straight to the point. Scott offered me $2250 off MSRP for a 2021 which is not bad for 84 months 1.99% or 60 months 0.99%, compared to the measly $2000 off I was getting for a 2020 demo with 12000km on it....

At the time, I work from home (Covid ) so there isn't a rush to get the last stock of stingers anymore. I told Scott about the situation and he said I could reach out to him any time essentially. Looking forward to making that purchase in the next couple months, hopefully.

I also recommend Orangeville Kia as they seem to be offering the best prices.

If your a previous Kia owner ask if you can still get the 1% loyalty reduction on your rate.

When I was looking for my car I remember a dealer telling me it's not a demo till 15000km is on it..

Humm usually most car a no longer considered to be a demo after 15k km... but for me is a demo should be between 1k and 10k km...

I hope that high mileage demo are dealer manager car and have not been test driven by thousands of people otherwise I would stay away.

At the end of august 2020, I ordered one of the last brand new 2020’s (with red interior)... I asked for white, black, grey in that order as long as it had red interior ... , took KIA Brampton 2 weeks to find it for me, I almost cancelled the order because it took too long ... because of the low stock I think I was not able to get the deal I was looking for but in the end, I got a good trade in value and I am super happy with my stinger ... because of COVID I only have about 3200km’s on it still ... if I got a good trade-in deal for mine I would consider a 2022 model :)

Don’t mean to hijack thread, but does anyone know if 2020’s have wireless CarPlay/android auto?

2022 still do not have wireless CarPlay/Android auto with the 10.25" screen. Some countries get a new 8" screen that has wireless CarPlay/Android auto.

These work well. I have one as do others. CPLAY2air wireless adapter for factory CarPlay on CARPLAY2air.com

Just to be clear, though, that's only for CarPlay. There's an Android Auto one called AAWireless that crowdfunded on IndieGoGo last year, but they only *just* started shipping out to customers yesterday, as a matter of fact: ‘AAWireless’ dongle for wireless Android Auto starts shipping to customers. You can buy one on IndieGogo here (it says May delivery, but considering they just started shipping the December delivery ones yesterday, I'm not sure how that will be affecting people buying a new one now)

Hey,

Yes, I am still driving my Stinger. As for the review of the car, there is pros and cons to owning it:

Do keep in mind, I am keeping my Stinger stock (Maybe a different muffler) as I want it to last for 15 years.

If you have any questions let me know. Note the below has not been grammar checked so bear in mind.

Pros:

  • Power is great – I always get a grin when I step on the gas.
  • AWD is phenomenal – Want to slide in the snow – yes you can. Want complete control in the snow – 100% yes *with winter tires. Essentially the AWD controls the car quite well.
  • Comfy front seats - good for 2hr+ drives
  • Steering is crisp especially in sports mode – Note: this is compared to a 2006 KIA Sedona so your mileage may vary on this. Another on of my friends also said the steering was great too.
  • Brembo Brakes will save you – Stopped from 80 km/h to 0 km/h when a porcupine jumped out in front of the road in the middle of the night.
  • The infotainment system still feels modern – plus KIA provides 10 years of free navigation updates which also updates the infotainment system style.
  • Other people love the car – I get nods, people holding up traffic to say they love my car, and people asking me about it.
  • Heated seats/steering wheel and ventilated seats are great to have.
  • The red seats – love them. Anytime someone first comes into the car they always comment on them.
  • Launch control is fun to mess around with
  • The Speaker system is great – Bass is not gangster level but suits my tastes.
  • The cabin is quiet most of the time – can be loud on certain types of roads/types of tires used but is super quiet on brand new road. [Note I have sound insulation in both rear seat and rear hatch area that I added - $75 fix]
  • Heads up display is awesome – shows speed limit, directions (if using Kia Nav), radio stations, speed limit, etc.
  • The sunroof is extra wide and is great for the summer.
  • Heated rear seats for friends or sisters LOL.
  • Power hatch much more practical than sedan trunk
  • 360 Camera is awesome – it isn’t 4k but is more than enough to avoid hitting things.
  • LED taillights and bending headlights are great to use.
  • Front turn signals are amazing – super bright and just cool to look at.
  • Highway Fuel Economy is better than advertised (i.e., 7-8 L/100km versus 9.6 L/100km)
  • City Fuel Economy is - usually better than advertised (11-14.5 L/100km versus 13.6L/100km).
  • Premium Recommended! Some on the forum might not like this but Premium Recommended does not mean Premium Required – So it runs great on regular. I have not really noticed much of a difference between premium and regular. Most dealers load it up with regular (or the 4 that I asked). Save Money and Stop Buying Premium Gasoline | Edmunds ß Article that talks about this.
Cons:

  • It is not Tesla Acceleration fast – Here’s to hoping for an electric Stinger!
  • Exhaust could be louder, but I still really enjoy the purr it makes – 2022 Kia Stinger has fixed this.
  • 2018 Model does not have Limited Slip Differential, but again I can’t say I would not notice a difference as I don’t use the car on the track.
  • Sometimes it hesitates when I step on the gas, but that is because I’m sitting 2 gears too high (Paddle shifter fixes this) or driving in ECO.
  • Blindspot camera would be nice – 2022 Kia Stinger Fixes this.
  • Jacking up the car is a pain in the butt because of the side skirt, but it can be done.
  • I love the red seats, but I wish I could get a red exterior too. I would potentially trade someone for the red exterior or perhaps wrap it red in the future.
  • The gas tank is too small – even though I’m paying $30 for half a tank it still feels like I constantly need to fill it.
  • Compared to My old Elantra and Electric Cars its city MPG could be way better but remember it’s a sports car. Example) Elantra 44 MPG Highway/33 MPG City VS Stinger 33 MPG Highway/16-21 MPG City.
  • If you have a big phone the phone holder doesn’t always close – especially when the phone is plugged into android auto.
  • I’ve had to use the warranty a few times – so not perfect but all was covered under warranty.
  • Wish the heads-up display had RPMs, but this can be fixed with an additional $20 rpm HUD from amazon.
  • Strut needed to be replaced at 24,000 km – Replaced (covered)
  • Side Bolster Failed around 21,000 km – Replaced (covered)
  • Potential Con: If you use premium be prepared for that fuel economy number to hurt you even more.
  • Potential Con: If you are tall the roof may be close depending on seating arrangement (I’m between 5’ 11 ~ 6’ for reference)

Cool, did not know that existed. Thanks for sharing and clarifying that the one i posted above is only for Carplay.

Added the braking in action versus a porcupine. I correction it was 77km/h to 0 km/h but still impressive nonetheless.
