Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

I am not the only one, a friend of mine with the same setup (G70 + JB4 WMI) is encountering similar problems these days.
These days outside air temperature is quite high in Korea, even during night time. For example today we had 84°F with 70% humidity even at 2~3AM.

In Canada I don't think you will ever have such problems. :D
Crazy I wonder if this is a oil cooler problem or water temp. Like if they installed a bigger rad would that keep the oil temps down as well.

Clearly, you've never been in south-western ontario during the summer.. Maybe 10 degrees cooler, and a bit less humid at night, but.. Tomorrow, the forecast is 95F + thunderstorm with humidity making it feel well into the 100s for one I looked up. I grew up there - now I live in "COLD" Northern California :) Las Vegas at 110 is more bearable than Ontario at 95.
My bad, I thought that Canada was colder all year around. :p

Also, Ottawa is 150 miles south of Seattle by latitude, Windsor is 350 miles south of Seattle :) Can't speak for those up in Edmonton who might as well be in the arctic circle, it's 67F there today

I may be wrong, but I believe that canadian stingers have a better oil cooler compared to the us counterparts?

Keeping notes on the cooling requests. :)

Here is a log of the pull that triggered the engine overheat warning.
PS: Ignore the funky RPM in the middle, I just shifted too early in gear 5.

I really wish that JB4 could show Engine oil and Trans. Temps since we can't use third party OBD gauges.

110* heat index here in the midwest lately. :|

Got in 20 of our unique Stinger zero-service OCC! Get them while they are hot. ;)

With the extra length of the can, how do you keep the stock PCV hose from kinking. Mine is completely kinked shut. I think my supplied top side hose needs shortened but still a tight turn.
And don't cut the stock hose as its tapered. Found that out after the cut.

If you need more room trim the included hose from 2.5" to 2". I'm running 2" on our development car. Plenty of room to route the OEM hose around without any kinking.

PS. The good news is the factory line is really easy to remove from the crankcase side if you ever need to replace it!

The hose in my kit was just over 3 inches so I'm sure thats the where the problem is. I'll try 2 inches. Nice to have kia parts online, $30 for a new pcv hose....
Edit:
Cut the supplied hose from 3 to 2 inches and fits great.

Noob question: I'm the type of guy that likes to "set it and forget it". I'm only sticking with 91 octane. Is it worth the investment of a JB4 to stay on Map 1 the whole time? Does Map 1 have enough boost over stock that gives you the tingles?

Another question: Is there an advantage of replacing stock spark plugs and using higher quality ones if you have no plans for ECU tuning?

1) Map2 is where the fun begins
2) Yes

To be fair, map1 is a complete difference from stock. Map2 is like turning it up to 11.

I think jb4 is totally worth it for just map 1. It’s still probably at least a 50hp gain.

Hey @Terry@BMS
My Stinger is at my mechanics today getting a service and a dyno run... I have the JB4 with bluetooth, so I personally access the app on my phone. However, due to work commitments I can't be present at the dyno runs, so is there a way for my mechanic to access the JB4 so that he can do dyno runs on the different maps without having to pay for the app himself?

There is but might take time to sort out. Donnie who manages JB4 mobile has to make the shop an "administrator" so they can connect to as many different cars as they'd like. His email is orders@jb4connectkit.com

Alternatively if they have a BMS data cable there is no account or fee associated with the free windows JB4 logging software.

Got a few wot in this log, never got any logs reviewed so would like to know if map 2 running well and can maybe try map 3? (I can get octand booster if needed, but wondering if i need it)

-stinger awd gt2 (canada), 91 octane, jb4, densos, k&n CAI, gfb respons BOV, ark SdP, borla cat back, OCC

I don't think that you can run Map3 with this octane (looking at the logs), but its better to wait Terry's opinion.

Short run but seems OK to me. For 91 octane I'd keep it on map2.

I'm in the same ball park. I want to do a jb4, but I also care about warranty a lot and want to make it as stock as possible for service visits. So changing plugs and running OBD cable through the firewall take this from a quick plug and play to something a bit more complicated.

Is running map 1 on the factory plugs with no canbus connection safe and acceptable? I know this would be leaving power on the table, but it makes it a lot easier. Map 1 with an intake would still help I feel like, but I have never driven it. Thanks for the help.
