Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Guys he has the 2.0 ... as long as he doesn’t have too much alcohol in there or piss water he’s not going to hurt the motor lol.

This is my opinion based on experience, people can disagree all they want but back in the day, I’m talking like 14 ish years ago we used to put a big ol blead in the vacuum line to get more boost. Or put a spring on the waste gate actuator to try and keep that bish closed. There was no such thing as a tune for our cars or anything yet. Install a wideband and send it.(yes I know with today’s information that is not how we do things. But we did our best with what was available to us) my buddy Josh put a 75 shot that he made himself on his srt4, damn thing went 11.2x @126. Stock turbo, back then that was fast real fast. Now I don’t know what some of these guys who disagreed with me were doing at the time but that’s what we did here. No motors blew up.. your not going to hurt your car with a piggy back. Shi$ I remember when we were “tuning” the evos and srt4s with a damn apexi2 before AEM was out, the cars were just released ahh fun times. Those were some great times. And those cars were actually cool back then. I sound dated but am 32 yoa now. Carry on
 
For a 2L map2 on 91 octane should be fine without the fuel wire.

Ahhh the good old “I didn’t blow up an engine, so it’s impossible to blow up an engine” argument.

Did you read the entire post? I’ve blown up a few motors, none of which were from raising boost pressure a few psi.. especially on stock turbos.

Do you know what a JB4 does? It doesn’t just raise boost.
 
You can’t hurt your car with the stock turbo. Send it

Not sure I agree with this. But, with the data provided by the JB4 interface you can make smart tuning decisions. Just monitor your data if going in to uncharted territory.

Is this directed for me :D lol I still have to find some boostane. Not going to lie i am nervous about running map 3.... oooof.

Your situation with over boosting with downpipes we'll have to evaluate. Just want to make sure you have some good fuel in there so you don't blow it up trying to get to the bottom of it. MMT based octane booster works too, Lucas or NOS Race, or E85 mixture, or unleaded race gas. Just something better than pump while you troubleshoot it.

Nothing personal, but making blanket statements like that is misleading and is far from true.

I'm not denying your experience, however there are an endless amount of things that could hurt any engine, especially a turbocharged one... Lap3 found this out the hard way using their Unclechip piggyback. They added too much boost on stock and/or improperly gapped plugs and already destroyed many plugs & coils in our Stingers.:confused:

I do agree Piggybacks are usually safe and some have more built in protections than others, but saying you cant harm your engine using a piggyback is misinformation and simply is incorrect.

All I'm saying is that his question about running more boost on less than 93 octane is a legitimate question and shouldnt be disregarded.:thumbup:
