Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Yes I did to in case there were any hot spots on the pads.

You'll probably be fine then since the pads are allegedly the problem. My replacement pads have been sitting in some hole in the Pacific NW called "Troutdale" since Thursday morning. I'm going nuts having to drive my wife's car everywhere.

Customers have not reported any drawbacks, but I haven't had our car in for any updates since we got it.

Just called my dealer. I already have this update on mine and I haven't run into any problems at all!

I have a question about plugs and pinging. When I had my jb4 installed I was getting pinging. I’m running stock plugs at .024 and fuel wires. I was running chevron 94 at the time then tried shell 91 and it took care of almost all the ping. After adding e85 I get no more ping and I’ve had plenty of my logs looked at and everything looks ok so it must just be a octane issue. My question is if I ran a cooler spark plug would this help with the pinging while not running any e85? It would be nice to run map 1 on pump with no ping. With no e85 I run map 6 at just 1 psi over stock.

I've never encountered any pinging, even on too low grade of a fuel and clear timing pull in logs, so I can't say. But we suggest the Denso plugs at 0.022". I'd also evaluate the v7 firmware to see if the revised fueling changes anything.

Weird to get pinging unless it’s low octane or bad gas. I’ve heard many people complain about the “winter blends” especially in Canadian fuels. Apparently your fuels are more volatile and have less ethanol blended in them so American 89(not recommended for tunes) is better than your top 91 offerings.

Many people here run map1 on stock gapped plugs with no pinging so it must be something to do with the winter blends or certain Canadian fuels.

Maybe try Mobil’s new Synergy gas as myself and many people discovered that it works much better than Shell or anything available in the states.

Here’s some more information on the Fuel differences and hope this helps.

I think esso has the synergy gas, I also think the superstore gas station switched to Mobil synergy. Maybe I’ll give that a try. I’ll probably run a e20 mix on map 2 for the winter then do more testing after winter. Thanks for the info.

Edit, looks like Mobil synergy has a 93 octane but I don’t think this is in bc. I fill up with esso every week with my work truck and have not seen 93.

I stopped using Shell fuel about 4 years ago when I saw my data logs on my EcoBoost go to absolute Sh!t!

In my experience, the ‘consistency’ of their fuel is pure crap.

Really she’ll v power no good? I got 93 today for 2.90 but noticed their 91 non oxy was 3.69.. what’s up with that

From everything I've read, as long as you're getting a "Top-Tier" gas, the differences are minimal. Only place that's done a really good test I could find was AAA.

I’m not saying it’s “no good”, I’m saying their consistency with the quality was worse. During the time I experienced my issues at least two other trucks also had to drop to 91 maps.

From my datalogs on other platforms, I’ve seen the most consistent tank to tank performance from:

BP, Mobile and Sunoco (hard to find here).

I’ve also had good experience with Hess.

Wowza! 93 is $2.39 here in SC!

Damn that’s cheap... our 87 is around that 2.30 mark

That's very cheap. I'm in NC too and my 93 is over $3 a gallon for ExxonMobil.

Doube D must live next to a refinery.

On the coast maybe that helps. Gas stations down near S.C. are having a little gas war , reg unleaded is as low as $2.06. In Wilmington I fuel up at Costco so it saves me a little.

I'm in upstate SC and regular is like $1.89 right now lol.
