Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

We have the live website chat during business hours for on the fly questions and such. But, it's SEMA week, not everyone is at the office. Might be some chat delays. You can also email sales@burgertuning.com.

While we offer free shipping on the JB4 system other products (like spark plugs, the gapping tool, etc) we're not able to ship free. Most smaller stuff ships USPS Priority which is 3 day service for most of the USA. There is also FedEx 2 day express available for a fee at checkout depending on your location and the product weight. $60 sounds really high, what are you ordering exactly? We could have a weight wrong in our system on one of those products. If you are in a hurry you can always order now and email me after with your order number to sort out the shipping cost if the website over charged, etc. terry@burgertuning.com
Again, I'm sorry to use the public forum, but with no way to contact you directly or privately, I vented here. Yes, I know I was venting, but I was very frustrated.
I tried to order last night because today was/is a very busy day for me. And I knew the JB4 was free shipping. With it added to my cart I was still being charged shipping. Plus, there are only two methods of shipping in checkout and neither delineates who's shipping or which classification. with a nasty history of shipping to my zip code from the west coast, I figured I'd wait until today to call and get things done right.
I had to wait two hours for the west coast to wake up and started looking for a phone number. After surfing a while and dialing two apparently wrong numbers, I gave up and emailed. When I got my reply I was informed that you don't do phone sales, basically, even though I'd explained I had questions and issues and I needed to order ASAP. Instead, we exchanged emails for over an hour.
I did get my order placed. Christine claims the second option is Fex-Ex 2nd Day, so I selected the second option, which is only called "Express Shipping (1-3 business days based on distance from California, Not Guaranteed)". This is different than what my original cart contents' shipping said last night of 2-6 business days, but still says not guaranteed. I changed my order in order to optimize the chances I'd receive everything in time, ordering some things elsewhere with more guaranteed shipping.
I suppose my situation's a bit unique, but the shipping description and handling of it in the cart is not descriptive enough for me to have made my decision. And being chained to my email in order to get what I wanted done was not easy for me to do today. I know I've made a bit of a mountain (mound) out of a molehill here. But again, my experience was very frustrating and I had no other method for letting you know.
Now it's a waiting game to see when my order arrives.

If you need personal assistance my email is terry@burgertuning.com, or our general sales department is sales@burgertuning.com. I generally am not at the warehouse and would not be much help for anything order related unless there is some major screw up and you want me to go kick someone in the ass here. :)

One business day later and I at least have a shipping label made now.

Anyone know if there's a way to cast or send the gauges from the app up to the Stinger's screen? I swear I saw a post on this site, maybe not this thread, where someone was able to do that.

It was Terry's phone at BMS....theres a thread about casting up to the head unit ...seems like you gotta have phone rooted...we have all tried most everything to no avail without the phone being rooted Wash

I'm still trying to work it out. I have an old S5 that i rooted and installed android auto 2.9 on. Still trying to figure out how to keep the app from calling home.

Also, I can't for the life of me find the settings for map 6. I thought someone said there are new ones for the rwd vehicles. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Map6 is a custom tuning map. All JB4 tuning options are discussed in the primary thread: Kia & Hyundai JB4 - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion

They were probably thinking about boost by gear, which is active for all maps. With the latest firmware for RWD vehicles we suggest 6psi reduction in 1st and 1psi reduction in 2nd as starting points.

Terry, just curious if you’re saying “boost by gear”(BBG) reduces Target boost? Or reduces 6psi off max boost based on the map you’re running?

Another words if you ran map 3(+6psi) and BBG -6 it would be stock boost of about 12psi in first gear?

Or is BBG reducing stock boost totals so -6 would only run about 6psi in first gear?

Pretty sure BBG reduces total boost. I think he said on one of their cars they had to reduce the boost in 1st so much to get a good launch that it was actually below stock levels.

yeah, nice feature to have if there's bad prep on the track or it's real cold and you aren't getting enough grip on launch.

As of v5, it lowers boost by the set amount, so it can lower below stock levels if needed to get a decent launch. Like is required on our GT peg-leg. :)

So, am I incorrect assuming that the numbers should be: 1500 - 6, 2000 - 1 or 2, and the rest zeros? Maybe I'm too drunk to understand this right now. Just give me the answer!

Not the map6 boost by RPM values.

1st gear boost limit, set to 6.

You won't be using map6. The boost by gear settings, and all other settings on the user adjustment page, other than the map6 boost values, are global for all maps.

I am running JB4 (with fuel wires) Map1 and Map2 on 98 octane fuel. The car is stock with HKS 45L plugs and aftermarket exhaust.
I would like to run on Map3 and 5 but wonder whether this kind of fuel is sufficient. Another option is Shell V-Power racing (100 octane).
Do you think 98 is Ok or shall I use v-power racing or maybe both are not enough?

I think the 98 is fine. That said maps 3 and 5 for me, aren't completely sorted out. Tried both at the track. While they have the potential to be faster(more boost) they fall flat 3/4 track. Loss of power temporarily and then back on. I logged this and sent it to bms. They had no explanation. I ran 93 plus 30% e85. I'd stick to map 2 until it gets sorted.
