Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Hi Guys,

I am not sure whether this has been already posted somewhere here but I cannot find.

I have just received 2 sets of JB4 with wireless mobile connect kits. Do I have to pay for the mobile apps from the App Store or should there be any access codes provided with the mobile connect kits to download the apps for free?
Thank you for your help.

Terry has posted before, the app is a separate purchase so that you can use the app for multiple JB4s.

Just installed the JB4 with the fuel wires and the mobile kit on my 3.3TT AWD. The firmare update (JB4_KIA_5_T5.hex) went smoothly.
I have the following questions and would appreciate your help:
#1 I connect and start logging and both work fine but except for Map1 info other indicators (RPM, GEAR etc) are not working. Any ideas what might be wrong? I inputted fuel bias data as well.
#2 After a few minutes of driving I am logged off automatically. Is this correct?
#3 when I read codes there is an error : read failed.

I am pretty sure that the JB4 hardware is connected in the right way and I can feel the difference when Map 1 is selected.

I have another set for the second car but wait with installation after this one works fine.

just arrived from a long (150km) test drive on MAP 1. OMG this is incredible - up to 250 km/h the car response is so fast and smooth that it is almost unbelievable.
JB4 is really a great product. I still need to solve the issue of app gauges not working, but I am too excited today to take care of that :)

OBDII issue?

OBDII issue?

Hi Terry,

Found the problem - one pin in the OBDII cable is broken. I took a new one from another JB4 set and it was fine. I will have the defective one repaired locally tomorrow - this is not a big issue :)

I installed a complete JB4 set on another Stinger (it is still with factory plugs) and all works fine except for the GEAR gauge - it shows 0 all the time. Should I activate it in some way?
I wanted to attach some logs but the system did not allow me due to their size (but they are not so big - just 317kb the biggest). The car is stock with the aftermarket EL-TEC exhaust.

As this is my first JB4 product ever I would appreciate if you answer the following:
#1 Is it safe to change maps during driving or should I stop the car before doing that?

#2 I see that the fuel bias table (I set the settings according to the example posted by you on the n54.com) is available on the app page with MAP6 settings – so to get the benefits of the fuel wires I have to run in MAP6 or will it affect any map?

#3 I purchased HKS M45iL plugs and will have them installed next week. Are they sufficient for the JB4? Any recommendation for the gap? I plan to use MAP1 or MAP2 mostly.

#4 Do you recommend any engine oil to be used with the JB4 or just stay with the one used by KIA?

Thanks and sorry for so many questions asked.

I feel like we need a FAQ in here. Everyone of those questions (except maybe #4) has been answered in here.

Gear logging is not active yet, just road speed.

1) Change maps whenever you want, even while driving
2) Fuel wire settings are active for all maps except map0, which disables the JB4 all together
3) Should be fine, gap to 0.022-0024. We run and stock the Denso 5346 plugs on our site: KIA Stinger Denso 5346 Spark Plugs - BurgerTuning.com
4) OEM oil is fine, or whatever Mobile 1 product you prefer. I run the Mobile 1 0-40 on most of our BMWs.

I was looking over the forum but again could not find the answer. How to make sure that the fuel wires are connected correctly? Is there any indicator in the app?

Datalog and ensure fuel enrichment is going up and fuel trims in both banks are close together.

Well, I can't find any phone number, have been trying to place an order all morning, and now I find I can't start a direct conversation with you either, @Terry@BMS . So I'll post this here:

This is very, very frustrating. I need this order ASAP and have things to do. But I have to sit in front of my PC going back and forth with Christine, waiting for replies, etc.

Your site says free shipping, but at Checkout they're trying to charge me $16.50.

The only other shipping option is about $60, is 2-6 business days, and is not guaranteed. It can often take 5 business days to get anything from the west coast to my zip code.

I know there are other options if you choose to use them. I'm trying to get the car serviced and ready for an over-2,000 mile trip before Wednesday of next week.

I find the inability to talk with someone on the phone to get the entire order completed in 5 minutes instead of the near hour it's been so far (with still no order placed!) to be a terrible business policy.

I thought you should know.

We have the live website chat during business hours for on the fly questions and such. But, it's SEMA week, not everyone is at the office. Might be some chat delays. You can also email sales@burgertuning.com.

While we offer free shipping on the JB4 system other products (like spark plugs, the gapping tool, etc) we're not able to ship free. Most smaller stuff ships USPS Priority which is 3 day service for most of the USA. There is also FedEx 2 day express available for a fee at checkout depending on your location and the product weight. $60 sounds really high, what are you ordering exactly? We could have a weight wrong in our system on one of those products. If you are in a hurry you can always order now and email me after with your order number to sort out the shipping cost if the website over charged, etc. terry@burgertuning.com

Everything I've ever purchased from BMS shipped same day and delivered in no more than 3 days to Canada. I've have nothing but amazing service from Terry's team.

We do around 100 orders a day so every now and again something can fall through the cracks, especially when short staffed. But seeing as Kazz hasn't replied back to me here I presume he got it sorted?

I ordered on a Friday and got my order the following Monday.
