BMS JB4 Stinger water/meth (WMI) sneak peak

I am not going to lie, I kind of do want some meth.

Going the intercooler route first, I personally never been a fan of having meth on a daily driver, but for the price and performance that you get is very tempting.

I will hit the track in 2 weeks and I will go from there. How much did you spend on the whole kit ?

I saw your post about the intercooler and had the same internal struggle. I went with WMI first because it was cheaper. I'll eventually get the intercooler though.

I went with all the options (added the safety check cap, the WMI adapter, and the 2 gallon tank) and it was right around $720. If you go with the 1 gallon tank it's down to $570.

lol in theory but overkill for what we're looking to do with it. :)

Terry,

While installing the BMS kit this weekend, I was unable to get power to the pump. I jumped it by running a quick test to the battery to see if it would power on, and it did. But with the car running, and the power wire from the JB4 unit to the fuse box, I was unable to purge and get the pump to turn on. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this? I checked the fuse, fuse is good. Could I have possibly miss-pinned the orange or blue wires in the unit itself on the #3 and #16 slots?

Thank you for the kind words Tony!

It’s all about trying to help others. There is always people that will hate on me or hate in general but that’s part of the process. I honestly do this with positive intentions that someone out there can save some money and learn something just like I have.

I don’t let internet stuff get to me, I am am extremely blessed with my wife and girls in real life and that is all that matters to me. This car stuff is just my hobbies/passion.

You got wmi as well? How do you like it so far?

Yes I bought the BMS WMI kit. But you should know that with that charge pipe you sold me I had to tap into the other side. And because I wasn't paying attention I purchased the adapter, which was needless. But all good Monday I'll be complete. I'm looking to do an ECU tune here in Korea soon.

I didn’t know that. The UP charge is not compatible? You don’t have to tap the pipe, you can always cut the IC pipe on where the maf sensor goes and shift it to an area that clears.

I just got the meth kit so I never had the chance to install the meth kit with the up intercooler.

The UP charge pipes sensor is in a bad spot and the sensor hardly fits let alone the wmi adaptor.

Even trying to install the sensor you have to have it facing the right way for the harness to reach. You always have the option to cut the ic there the sensor mount and shift it to get better clearance.

Our adapter is designed around the stock chargepipe, but if you go aftermarket, they should have a WMI bung already fro nozzle placement?

Negative. Had to create one. And I can't use the the adapter. Does the kit come with a nozzle if you don't order the adapter? I don't remember seeing an additional nozzle in the bag, perhaps because I order the adapter?

The nozzle is part of the kit, the adapter itself doesn't include a nozzle. So you should have one. Email us photos of what you received if you can't find it!

I agree, I just wish he lived closer so he could do mine when I'm ready :D

Lol if I was close to you I would. I would just ask you to supply some pizza and beer.

If you ever find an excuse to take a road trip to the Chicago area I will do it for you for free, just to help a brother out.

Now that I done it once, I can do it with my eyes closed the second time.

Installed my WMI kit last weekend. Took all day Sunday but got to spend the whole day with my Dad which was great. The car ran consistent 12.55 at 114 mph with IAT at 77 degrees. temp at track was 70 degrees. This was full weight 1/2 tank of 94 and mufflers on. My best time ever was 12.46 at 114mph with no mufflers and weight reduction with 104 fuel from the track and the temp was in the 50's before the WMI. I like the consistent runs when hot lapping. Any adjustments I should make in the settings to squeeze some more power out. Also on a side note, I disconnected the brake light switch plug and launched the car on a quiet back road at 12 PSI. OMG it took off like a stabbed rat. I have got to figure a way to over ride that light switch momentarily to be able to launch at the track. I want to be able to keep up with the Golf R and the RS3's that get me off the line.
