• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Hey all I'll be getting my 19 my20 white stinger soon just waiting to hear back from dealer on when delivery will be. Im torn on whether I should get paint protection or not, I've never had gotten it previously and have just waxed and polished all my previous cars. First time spending 60k on a car and just want to hear your thoughts as I know the paint isn't the greatest I've been reading about the stingers paint.

Don't get it from the dealer, but get something - the Stinger paint is VERY soft, it will really take a beating if you don't put something on it.

Definitely get paint protection film for front bumper and hood, paint chips easy. Suntek has a ten year warranty. Ceramic coat if you can, Manaz knows a good company to use.
Can you ad your city and state on your avatar please .

Awesome thanks guys, might get a few quotes to get a ceramic coat done. AV8R have updated my details sorry completely forgot to add that

Greetings, pleasantries etc. I agree with the others get paint protection and get it done immediately before the swirls and marks start to happen.

Where's your location? You may get a lead that way.

Welcome Jay321. For what its worth, I haven't had ceramic coating or PPF done. Had it 6 months and done 4000kms, a lot of them on the highway. Haven't had any chips in the paint just in the windscreen and on the KIA badge. Thought about applying some type of ceramic coating myself but have only done wax and polish at this stage. Personal preference I suppose.

Congrats @Jay321 on your soon to be new car, welcome to the Hive, it's an exciting time for you. Yes I recommend paint protection :)

Thanks for the warm welcome all!

Yeah it's hard to decide had a 2013 ralliart previously which was washed and polished and only really had a few stone chips but paint held up nicely with all the highway and spirited drives it got. However it was a flat white not pearl like the stinger has.

Lots to think about and I haven't even got the car yet.

Save your money on this Ceramic Coating fascination thats going on around at the moment :p...Every so called detailer has their version of it, who knows what the contents of it are anyway to be honest.
If you use a good brand of polish and proper washing process your car will stay mint condition.. I use
Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Car Wax G18216.
l find this soooo easy to apply and there's no white residue if you get it on your rubbers etc :)...The water beads so easily and not 1 swirl mark in paint...L had a red Navara before this car and it was like glass...and guess what no Ceramic Coating..
Anyway thats my 2 cents worth on the subject, its your car and money so do as you want, Cheers:thumbup:

Legend thanks mate, I have been thinking and I don't think the price for CC is justified in my case. That's the wax I actually use :D so easy to use

Evening Stinger Crew,

Hope all is well out there. I go and park on my own with a few empty parking spots beside me. Looks what's beside me when I get back to my car? We seem to be a magnet for Mustangs. They always park close by. I had a look inside, as I haven't before, what's with the massive ugly hnd brake? Each to their own.

Parked Cars.webp

Five weeks in as a Stinger owner, I have already put 2,700 km's on the clock. Work trips to Swan Hill, Albury, Wodonga and Shepparton certainly rack up the K's. I'm glad that I flew up to Wagga.

P.S. Congrats Dom on your new purchase.

The Mustang owner parked next too you, knowing it would be safe, and you would be careful opening the driver's door, and not hitting his/her Mustang, not so sure about the small silver car next to the Mustang though. also seems the parking spots are not so big as well , as usual.

Welcome on-board Jay and congrats on the purchase. Enjoy the ride for many years to come.

Thanks mate meant to pick her up tomorrow but transport got stuffed around so, I'll be still patiently waiting for another week. It's been tough seeing stingers on the road.

Don't worry, the week will come around so quick. I ordered mine at the end of June and it arrived first week of September. Time flew.

Hmm, the silver car has a door ding, a big one, I wouldn't want to park next to a major door dinged car. Well, I don't really want to park next to any car.
