• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia Bi-Modal Exhaust Updates

It's the "Start a conversation " button I checked you do have one on your profile. Whether you can use it yet or not I'm not sure? Sometimes takes 15 posts up before you can attach or pm. Maybe @ShannonC can pm you.

Hi ShannonC,
I cannot see it yet. I have a bit of time, so no rush...

When I can see it I will PM you.

Hi Fameangel,
When I click on the envelope icon, all it does is show a list of conversations. There is no option to send a PM. Maybe when I reach 15 posts it might magically appear...

I have a couple of months before my first 3 month service. I called the service center and asked them if they do an oil change at that service and they told me it is mainly an inspection to check everything is good. I was hoping to get the exhaust fitted then, if I like the exhaust sound. It looks to me that the exhaust is really good quality and I like that.
Yeah, sorry I forgot that Newbies have to post a certain number then you get " full forum privileges "
good luck with your exhaust, it is so much fun :)

I get 10 emails per day about this so I've made a canned response:

Hi there,

You can make direct contact with other people via "Conversations". However, if you're a new member, it takes some time to have this feature activated for your account. It's an automated process that works using various algorithms and not just your post count.

Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil as we've had too many people in the past sign up only to contact members behind the scenes with links to malicious websites. Considering this happens out of view, there's nothing we can do to prevent it - other than simply making it difficult for these people to follow through with their malicious behavior.

If you don't have the ability to start a Conversation with another member, give it some time and keep participating in the community - and it shouldn't be too long before you can...

Sincerely,

Sal C.

So like Sal says, just keep posting. Here’s an idea. Start a thread about how lame the OEM KIA badges are and how you can’t wait to start rebadging. That’ll get your post count up in no time.:p

The spammers always spoil it for the rest of us!

I like the KIA badges as it make the car a bit of a sleeper. So many people have no idea the car goes so fast, until I take them for a ride. Great shock value

Found the Install Instructions, which I gather is the first version.
Good job finding that.
Would love to see the install instructions for the new design.

I have got my exhaust upgraded as part of edition the standard option- GT night Sky- I had driven the car for 5 days with standard exhaust, it is much much nicer and lots of fun with new noise.
Took dealer 4 hours to fit it, however I got another stinger GT as a loan car on that day.
The bimodal is expensive but definitely worse the money you pay.

I agree in my book an aftermarket exhaust is a must the stock is eerily quite for a performance vehicle. Nice choice of Colour btw:D. Where in NSW are you?

Your photo looks like the Sheffield quarter High st Penrith? I might have spotted your car in Union St Penrith?:D

Yep, good catch, I was visiting a friend in North Penrith the other day,
That would have been the day it was pouring with rain and when i stated id spotted your vehicle @MerlintheMad said i should have taken a photo. Merlin obviously hasn't seen the monsoons we get out here lol.

How can you tell the new bi-modal exhaust from the older bi-model exhaust?

Are they just identical, except for the wiring?

The old method is that they had to pull the dash out to do tbe wiring. But apparently not with the new one.

So my bimodal exhaust passenger side valve is not working again. Only had the passenger side actuator replaced about 2 months ago because it failed. Like before the driver side works fine.

Taking it back to KIA to fix. I hope this isn't going to be a continual thing.

Have you heard of anyone else having the actuator fail?

I hope you can get that sorted out as it the most expensive exhaust money can buy for the stinger and it should just work!

So if I get the exhaust done, how can I tell if the dealer had to put out the dash?

I just want to be sure after, that they did put in the new exhaust and not the old exhaust.

As far as I'm aware the old bimodal which I have is plugged in the front fuse box on the driver's side.
The new one is plugged into the rear fuse box located in your car's boot.
