True, they are fine. But my one regret when I owned my (non-SS) V8 Commodore was that I never put a nice exhaust on it to really enjoy the sound as it was too quiet. I won't make the same mistake this time.

I'm really enjoying the Bimodal, while it's under warranty I'll leave as is, I was considering the S type Borla but someone in another thread is selling it as it was too loud for him and his family. I work shifts so I also consider the neighbours although blaring out the noise of their noisy yapping little dogs with a loud exhaust might bring me some satisfaction at a later dateTrue, they are fine. But the Kia Bi-modal is always open at startup isn't it? That was another of my concerns with it. I think it is loud enough - those blatty ones aren't what I'm after either. Plus my wife would be horrified - she didn't like the revving of even the stock exhaust on the demo videos even though I tried to tell her that was just for demonstration purposes so you could compare. Electric/hybrid Stinger anyone?I work shifts so I also consider the neighbours although blaring out the noise of their noisy yapping little dogs with a loud exhaust might bring me some satisfaction at a later date![]()
Yes, it's loud on cold engine start. But I love the sound resonating through my underground carpark. But the Kia Bi-modal is always open at startup isn't it? That was another of my concerns with it. If you need the heavy guns just let us knowYes, it's loud on cold engine start. But I love the sound resonating through my underground carpark.![]()
Just checked the website as I thought it was a typo, can’t believe they jacked the price up another $600. That makes it even less of an option. I’ll stick with the stock exhaust for nowStill showing $3200 RRP on Kia site, so maybe when that drops it's an indication. Mind you, I think we've seen/heard promises of a redeveloped version quite early on in this thread, so won't hold my breath.
As a matter of interest, I did contact my local dealer who said they would install third party accessories as part of a new car deal, but warned that anything non-standard, especially affecting power, would be used as leverage to refuse a warranty claim (of course, bastards).
Also, as I haven't seen it explicitly mentioned here or in the international threads, I asked X-Force about power gains and they said there was a small gain anecdotally, though they hadn't tested.
Underground carpark ? do you own a hotel ?Yes, it's loud on cold engine start. But I love the sound resonating through my underground carpark.![]()
Get Bi-modal as it sounds sweet...honestlyLet’s hope it’s considerably cheaper given the less work it’ll take to install. $2600 for a noise maker is what put me off getting it. That being said I wish the car had some sort of noise, after seeing the install of the current one it put me off getting it
Not now they’ve jacked the price up to $3202Get Bi-modal as it sounds sweet...honestly![]()
Agreed if you want to pay $3200 for noise you could save $1100 and get the xForce Cat Back system with Bi-Modal and get a genuine performance boost. KIA are pandering to drivers vanity with the Bi-modal. The only reason it makes any sense is if they throw it in for free. My dealer offered me one after the car sale for $1400 fitted. I still said no.Not now they’ve jacked the price up to $3202

Now guess which one goes to the bottle shop.

If they’d offered it for $1400 at the time of purchase a year ago I might have taken up the offer but they wouldn’t budge off the $2600 so I knocked them back. Also they couldn’t supply and fit it by delivery of the car and I didn’t want to wait for pickup. Now the website has them listed at $3202.94 forget it.Agreed if you want to pay $3200 for noise you could save $1100 and get the xForce Cat Back system with Bi-Modal and get a genuine performance boost.
