Ark GT-F Springs Review!

About 26 1/8 front and rear

I appreciate it.

I’m currently 27.75” front & 27.5” Rear. (With about 1 gallon in the tank]

Khartunerez website states the following:

  • Drop Height: 1.15” Front/1.0” Rear (AWD)

That's pretty accurate then. I just filled up my gas tank this morning.

@ZyroXZ2

Ignoring the looks, what's your thoughts on these after having them installed for 10 days or so? Do you feel any difference compared to Stock with regards to Comfort on regular driving? Any difference when you change to Sport mode and are pushing the car?

OH GAWD IT'S AWFUL, I HATE IT, I HOPE NO ONE JUST ORDERED A SET!

Just kidding, it's still identical to my review. Because I basically put these back in exactly where the stock springs had "set" into the rubber seats, there hasn't been anymore settling. Basically, nothing's changed since the review.

As for "pushing it hard", it's more on the swaybars making the bigger difference, but as mentioned, the springs did improve poise in a hard corner having been installed after the swaybars. For reference, there are winding roads around my place that 30-35MPH is usually pushing it (yes, the curves are THAT sharp), but I was able to hit 45MPH without any tires chirping or slipping. Of course, that's really dangerous because the curves are so sharp that I can't see ahead, and I actually saw a car that wiped out in the curves (clearly some dude trying to push it) and there were two cops and a fire truck around a car that basically lost an entire corner of this car wiped out in the middle of one of the entrances. We're talking that suspension knuckle is likely no longer attached to anything in that wheel well once they try moving the car, lol

As for pushing it hard without the springs, I was able to take a banked on-ramp at about 60MPH after installing the swaybars, but it felt like it was about to understeer and I had to feather the gas to keep it balanced, or maintain "poise" if you will. So take it for what you will, the springs helped, but I think it's a combination thing right now for me that's working out so well.

Do the bump stops not need to be trimmed with these springs?

Did you need to adjust your headlights? Heard a lot of eibach spring owners needing to adjust them due to the aggressive drop. Also did you get your alignment?

Not speaking for the gtf crowd...

My bone stock gt2’s headlights were already aimed way down before lowering.
I’d think anyone lowering needs to adjust them. It is quite easy. Number 2 Phillips long shaft. It won’t seem like you are making progress turning it. But it is. Takes a while.

Uh oh you are going to stir up the screw driver vs. removing air boxes debate again ;)

I did both methods. Maybe my box wrenches suck, but it was a total pita trying that way and small sockets wouldn’t fit. Screwdriver for me was too easy.

If u have gt2 then they can adjust automatically but u have to have the dealer do it. They hook up their computer and it tells u how much off the lights r then they go back to stock specs . Mine were off-1.67”377B6B63-081F-444E-9DA4-7D44885C68B3.webp

Interesting, wonder if they can adjust the parking proximity sensors, mine go off sitting at a red light with no one around me.

I don’t trust my dealer to add wiper fluid. I can turn a screwdriver just fine lol

No on the headlights, haven't even driven at night recently at all (sounds lame, but believe me I've had to drive so much, I would like to just get home and let the car "sleep", lol... I just drove 400 miles in 2 days for work). Once I do, I can get a feel for where I need to adjust it to. It always seemed a bit low from the factory to be honest...

And yes, I got my alignment. I actually had already aligned it a little myself, but without alignment plates, I had to do it lifting/dropping the vehicle a few times. The rear had a shockingly -3.5 degree camber, but I actually got both rears to -2.5 degrees camber EXACTLY (verified when the guy put it on the rack), and I did it with a bubble camber magnet... I was quite proud of being that precise with a bubble  But the rears are back at -1.2 because I still need that straight line traction with all this power on a measly 255 tire... :sneaky:

Strangely, though, I think the tires wore funny. I watched the guy do the alignment (they LOVE that, it's a good thing he's been doing my alignment for almost 7 years), and he was spot on with my custom specs and steering alignment, and yet I have to turn about 1-2 degrees left in order to stay straight. The funny part is, BEFORE the alignment, I ALSO had to steer about 1-2 degrees left to stay straight coming right off the spring install and doing a test drive. That's why I think I've got some tire pull going on. The tires did have nearly 10k miles on them.

So if I get the Ark springs on the AWD model will the drop be more even than the RWD? Heard that the front end sits a little higher than the rear from the factory so I’m hoping the springs can fix that. Like you said above I want the car to be lowered, but not too low that it looks aftermarket. Plus I live in Michigan and snow is a thing here so there’s that . The wheel gap on the AWD model makes my skin crawl.

The front doesn't sit higher than the rear: the FENDERS are cut higher on the front which gives that appearance.

While I don't have an AWD, my bet is that it drops more on those because of the way the suspension is set up and the spring rates being different. It doesn't mean it drops the car itself lower than a RWD necessarily, though. I believe AWD might actually sit overall higher to begin with (either due to taller springs or a different spring rate) which is why every aftermarket spring shows more drop on an AWD.

Got it so even if the AWD drops more from the springs, it actually sits about the same as the RWD when the springs are settled. Thanks for the quick response, truly appreciate it.

Wellllllll, I didn't say it'd sit the same, I just said that it drops more likely because there are differences in the springs used between RWD and AWD. Where it actually ends up sitting I don't know (it could even be higher than a RWD).

Will the Ark GT-F springs void the warranty?
