ambient lighting

I’m not a car guy, what does that mean?? Lol sorry for all the questions

He's saying he removed the gauge cluster fuse, wrapped the positive wire from the led kit around the legs of the fuse and then pushed the fuse back into the fuse box.

Oh ok...got it. Lol

I just bought one of the kits. Now I'm wondering if there's a location to tap into that would only activate the lights when the headlights are on. Anyone know?

On a related note, wondering if anyone has poked around to see how the stock system works, with a view towards having additional LED's mirror the color automatically.

I would try tapping them to your headlight fuse. So when your headlights turn on power will be turned on to the LED kit.

How’d you hide the wires? Any advice

There are no visible wires on how I installed them.

Back LED wires where tucked behind the sides of lower plastic covers of the center console.

The whole right side LEDs where then passed through the back where our glove compartment ment is located. Youbwill need a thin metal wire to pass them through. Itll take some time.

Where did you ground it?

Edit: nevermind. Found a painful spot.

Right here. It's an easy spot to get to. Right on top of the gas pedal. Place it in between the bolt and washer.

Ha, yea that would have been easy. I figured it wouldn't work because of the plastic. I found a bolt next to the fuse box that works.

I have one mounted and wired. Going to take a break and work on my sound deadening project a bit. I'll post pics once done.

Thanks for keeping me busy today, Jay.

Awesome idea and kit. I'm thrilled with the results.

I installed the lights around a week ago. Looks great. Thanks for the post. I wish we could get leds by the 3 front vents lol

I added interior under glow LEDs front and back seats. I connected them to the cluster fuse located on the fuse box under the steering wheel. Then just find a ground.

The leds will turn on when you press the push to start button which activates the cluster this way.
I know if I tried this, it would be a real cluster fuse.

It's really straight forward. It would be very hard to mess it up.
