Edmunds.com forums put the 2019 lease post up in October of 2018. I believe that is when cars started showing up in the U.S.

My 2019 was one of the first available, and I took deliver in October.

They had been on the ground in the USA for a while before that, just not released to dealers for sale.

Yup.. which is why my 2019 was on the ground for quite some time before being sent to my dealer. Too many 2018s were still unallocated.

Canada had the 2019’s well before the US. I got mine in August and the dealers started getting them at the end of July. Dealers had them before Kia even released the pricing.

Yeah - I'm always surprised when I see new 2018s on cars.com. But, I won't even consider them at a good price because of their lack of features (360 camera, rear heated seats, etc.) I try to keep my cars for a long time, so saving a few bucks is not worth losing features I really want. I wonder if that's why 2018s are still around while the 2019s seem to be moving from this summer sale they have going on.

There are also people like me who won’t purchase a first model year vehicle. Plus any 18’s that are still available have now been sitting on dealer lots for 2 years.

And the lease incentive for MY18s is gone.
There are buyers who don't need/want 360 degree camera.
The first year of the Stinger is not fraught with "first year" issues. There are a few but they are minor and affect relatively few vehicles.
Sitting around for "two years" is only problematic if the sitting compromises the car, which, other than the battery, it doesn't. Replace the battery where necessary, and enjoy the huge discount; because that is how Kia will move these cars.

The battery is one concern. Then it all comes down to how precise/anal the buyer is. Do you care that the car has been test driven multiple times? Or that the paint is marred from careless dealer maintenance? Or that the interior is marked up? I do/would. Plus having it bake out in the sun or sit all winter with only periodic starts is not great either.

Those concerns are all personal and affect price. A MY18 with few miles on it (still), not marred or showing signs of "weathering" will fetch a higher price unless a buyer simply doesn't notice or care that much; and then s/he will get a price based on how savvy they are and how much they want to haggle. The car is still "new" in the technical sense, as it has never been owned or driven for private purposes. A "dealer ride" that has several thousand miles on it will, of course, be impossible to rationalize and the dealer will have to pay for his self indulgence (unless a buyer bunny comes along not knowing anything about buying a "new" car).

June sales get announced this week. I am extremely curious to see what the Stinger sales looked like in June. The Stinger sales this year have been disappointing but a strong June could help them a lot.

All of the rebates expire after tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how many of them get renewed in July.

The zero percent interest plus $2000 rebate is a big one. I hope that one continues till the end of the year.

So far KBB only lists the used values of the 2018 model year only. The resell value of the 2018 Stinger has been strong compared to Infiniti, BMW, Mercedes, and Alpha Romeo. It is also better than the equivalent regular Audi cars but the “S” and especially “RS” models hold their value extremely well.

I expect the 2018 Stinger resell value to take a significant hit when they start showing the 2019 Stinger resell values in a month or two.

KBB first posted the Genesis G70 resell value last week and it is extremely strong. I hope the 2019 Stinger values are similar or better than the G70.

A few months ago you could actually buy a 2018 Stinger brand new and immediately trade it in and not loose hardly any money at all. It made no sense at all to buy a used Stinger because the factory rebates for new cars are so strong.

New here, but looks like they just tossed the GTS up on the site build configurator with late July 2019 as an expected arrival. I originally thought it was due for 2020? Who knows, I'm itching to buy a GT1 bad...but waiting to see what small little tweaks are expected for 2020 before I do.

Completely agree. Why we have to pay $1500 extra for the 20th Anniversary edition to get red leather is silly. The rest of that package is useless to me. Don't like the wheels, red stitching on the carpeted mats is useless because I replace them with rubber ones, carbon interior is standard on the lower GT trim so not sure why it's an up charge now.

Just for clarity, the alcantara headliner is not a 20th anniversary model feature, it's a GT Ltd. feature
