We have just been advised by one of the other dealers that 1 of the Winter Tire packages DO NOT FIT the Stinger.

Please be advised the K022 in 18" will not fit on the Front end of the Stinger, waiting on resolution from dealer currently dealing with the issue, will advise once updated.

Could possibly be all 18" packages.

Cheers,
Pinky

No its Fastco that builds the packages, they cant get the rim on the fronts, wont fit over the brembo's, Have had no update as of yet.

Didn't Kia send out a memo about a 19" winter rim/tire package from Fastco earlier this month?

The packages included 4 x18" and 1 x 19" inch sets. I think I gave you copy when you were here. They released a bulletin with 19 in recommended with Pirelli tires ($2930 for 4 tires alone) and created the k022 package with 18's...my guess is they never test fit.

Right...

Hopefully they can figure out an 18" package, 19s are going to be pricey!! My car should arrive Wednesday, I won't take it without winters on. Do you know if it was an issue with the circumference or an offset issue??

All I can say is that I'm embarrassed can't really expand on it much further but if this is 100% true all I can say is wow

Man thats annoying.

Those brakes must be massive...

Fastco does make a K022 style rim in a 19” though. If you keep the width down price shouldn’t be too bad. I’m sure Kia Canada can help offset the cost of the inconvenience. :)

okay so what's going on here? who's at fault?

So much for the all year driving capabilities touted on Kia Canada’s website!! Lol

Pretty safe to say Kia dropped the ball on this. But I’m sure Fastco is also partly to blame for lack of detail.

Guys Im sorry I have no explanation. On a personal level i wanna go hide under a rock. There is no excuse if this is true, but unfortunately my hands are tied... cant say much more, hope you understand why.

The dealers aren’t to blame on this one, and you least of all.

Hopefully a quick and cost effective solution is made available. This isn’t the first car with Brembo brakes!! Lol

I bet you the 19x8.5 FC04 Fastco makes fits just fine with the ET35 offset. Tire size would be a 235/40 R19. Price for this would be in around $2300 CDN taxes in. Just a hunch... I’ll verify in the morning.

Okay so update on solution as final production vehicle front axel specs were different than the p2 vehicles they had.
After some further investigation on pending issues regarding the K022 application on the front axle on the new Stinger, there is clearly a difference between the P2 vehicle Fastco Canada mapped and the current production vehicle that we are installing the K022 (+45 offset) on as it does not fit.

Until further notice, please restrict the application on the K022 to the +34 offset ONLY (not +45) as this offset offers the most clearance. The +34 offset wheel requires the use of low profile wheel weights.

Fastco Canada is completely aware of the situation at hand and working on a solution – Also, if not already completed, Fastco Canada be in contact with any dealers whom have purchased the K022 for the Stinger application to assist with returns and reorders.

Nice work!

So I was right it was an offset issue... why would they go with an ET45, that would look horrible!

I was quoted $1835.00 taxes in for the 18" winter tire package with the Fastco FC04 rim, 18x8 with ET30 Offset on Micheline X-ICE 3s.

Do know if the Kia RIMS are hub centric?

I was at Kia North Edmonton today and brought the winter rim problem up. I was assured that by the time my car is in they will have more than 1 option available for me. My car is in port and is scheduled to be at the dealer on December 7th. Exciting times.
