HEADS UP RE: WINTER TIRE PACKAGE KIA - CANADA

Hi new to the forum and interested in the Stinger!

Was anyone able to have the dealer throw in the winter set as part of the Stinger's purchase price? I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is No considering it's a new model probably selling at full MSRP with no additional perks or accessories given for free.

No , best I could do was free oil changes , $500 accessory credit , debadging / rebadging , tire mounting ( I'm replacing factory tires with A/S ) ..................they arent discounting in Canada given the less than 5% margin .......give it a try though

That's pretty good considering. I like the debadge idea!

Daughter got her Red Gt AWD with 18” winrter tires using 34 offset works great and she is enjoying it in Prince George BC

I was directed to this thread because I'm getting my Stinger with 18" wheels. Those tires that come with the car are all season 225/45R18 as you probably know. I'm looking for track tires (R-compounds) that would run as close to the original staggered set up that the 19" wheel package has. Meaning a better footprint for traction.

Hankook and Toyo both make 225/40R18(front) and 255/35R18(rear) in R-compounds. Will the 18x8.0 with a ET30 up to ET34 offset work for the fronts? Would I keep the same offset for the rear tires also in the 18x8.5?

Any recommendations? Does that sound about right? Or do I need less offset for the rear wheels than the front?

*I also saw the note that with the K022 +34 offset they needed low profile weights for balancing the wheels.

The offset on 19 wheels on the rear has an offset of 45 or 46 hope this helps

I'm curious now that the rims issue is sorted out for the 18's, are you guys putting on off set fron and back tires like the 19's or all 1 size for winter and if so what size did you end up going with?

I put 18"x8" rims all around with an ET30 offset. The fit is perfect, wheels are flush with fenders. Tire size is 225/45 R18 all around so not too pricey either since its a common size.

I would do the winters in a staggered set up , you wont be on snow/ice all winter

That poor Stinger... those Brembos deserve better. I went with the 18" Fastco FC04s w Micheline X-Ice3s for $1634.00.

We agree those do like nice! Great Job:thumbup:
Our set-up was for a customer that wanted to save some money and only wanted to spend $800. They went with a better tire and saved some $$ on the rims.

.....................but .......................really ...........................fugly :coffee::confused:

We have just been advised by one of the other dealers that 1 of the Winter Tire packages DO NOT FIT the Stinger.

Please be advised the K022 in 18" will not fit on the Front end of the Stinger, waiting on resolution from dealer currently dealing with the issue, will advise once updated.

Could possibly be all 18" packages.

Cheers,
Pinky
Hello All, I went to my local Kal Tire dealer last week and they removed a front and a rear wheel to measure clearances, bolt pattern etc... will have a set of 18" rims and tires in next week and I will let you know if they fit.
