3.3TT New STILLEN Intake and Cat-Back Exhaust Coming Soon

Diagram A is similar except in reality the filter is much lower (lined up with the duct) and the heat shield/box also acts as a backstop for any incoming cool air from the duct.

Okay, I get it now. Thanks for the clarification!

Out of interest what is the part number of the K&N filter used? Would like to calculate surface area to approximate max flow.

Is the duct going under the edge of the heatshield?

I think that's what I'm seeing but it's hard to tell from that angle.

@STILLEN check out my artwork. Is your design the one on the left (A) or right (B)? This was the easiest way for me to explain my question.

I lined up the stillen photos looking under my hood and it is clearly "A"

I no longer believe the JT is superior to Stillen. My mind has been changed for sure.

After an initial period without clear information on how either product worked on the air intake side, at least now one can make an informed decision.

I taught you ordered the JT intakes?

I did but I used PayPal. Later found out their PayPal isn't completely set up so JT had no way to access the money or refund it to me.

Took alot of back and forth with PayPal to get my money refunded a week ago and this morning for some reason they've taken the money back out of my account.

Long story short: I bought a JT CAI but can't get the money to them or back to me. The money is somewhere on the floor of the Pacific Ocean in a fiber optic cable.

The entire situation is absurd.

What! Dude that’s messed up.

JT is bigger and badder every where and has the cold ram air mod. JT should be better but lots more $ and ironically you will probably get your Stillen before the JTs arrive. Still haven't shipped. But If you weren't going to modify the stock air duct may as well go Stillen.

Totally agree JT is the best on the market to date with real dyno results.

You get what you pay for

He did try and get JT but if you read down poor guy ended up losing his payment due to some PayPal nonsense.

If you pay with PayPal, you don't loose your money. They have excellent customer protection.
Read his post and you’ll understand his situation, every company has flaws;).

To be fair I'm not saying that the Stillen intake is better. I'm just saying JTs (in my opinion) isn't superior.

I don't blame PayPal. I don't blame JT.

I believe my situation is unique and PayPal just has no idea how to handle it. I also believe there is a language barrier complicating the communications (they emailed me overnight and their reply is nonsensical gibberish so I'm guessing English isn't that particular person's first language).

On the positive side at least they finally gave me a phone number. I'll call in a few hours to try to explain things to them.

How is it better?
IMO
JT + Modified air intake which adds scoops behind the grill to ram air into the airbox area
JT + Freaking huge elements
JT - Extra bends in piping
JT - Back end of air box is not closed (says to create flow through effect) but will allow heat in when sitting

Take and reverse all of those for Stillen

I think these two intakes are probably the best designs on the market. I was wanting to do the JT but the shipping cost made it a no-go for me.
I ordered the Stillen on the first day of pre-orders.

If I get a hair up my a$$ I may pull the bumper cover off and fab up some aluminum ducts for behind the grill. But I have a feeling the Stillen design will work just fine for me.
