Installation of Mirror with HomeLink and Compass

I would hope the wiring harness (plug) is the same, but stranger things have happened. It looks like the 5 button mirror can be found in the Sorento if anyone has a Stinger and Sorento...
I think they are slightly different. I have a 2016 SXL Sorento and i dont think that one has the compass display in the mirror.

I have a 2016 SX-L Sorento also and no compass in the mirror. The compass is on the instrument panel between the 2 gauges if selected.

So many of these mirrors look the same, it makes me wonder what the difference is...

This one says Kia Soul:
KiaAutoParts.com: Kia B2062-ADU01

This one says Sorrento:
KiaAutoParts.com: Kia C6062-ADU00

This one says Forte:
KiaAutoParts.com: Kia A7062-ADU01

This one says Stinger:

The pictures all show the Homelink buttons except for Stinger.
Yep, one of the Canadian owners got a price quote for me at his dealer...$1200 for the mirror that lights up. He also advised that the dealer todl him it may not work on a US Spec due to the VIN??? Not certain how the VIN matters for a mirror but that is what was said. The plug is the only factor in my opinion.

Thanks. The OEM model is only $245.. will probably go that route. $1200 is ridiculous..

Is it just me or does anyone else think stupid stuff like wondering where the "used" mirror came from? I always picture it coming from some crashed salvage car with fatalities. I feel like if I use it, I am gonna get some bad mojo in my car. Kinda freaks me out...

This is the mirror on the Canadian GT Limited AWD - and yes, the buttons light up ... :p

A quick search on that model number pulled up this NewEgg listing for a used one @60 bucks:

2015 Hyundai Sonata Bluelink Auto Dim Rear View Mirror GDO & Compass OEM TLMHL4 - Newegg.com

Looks like it was used in the Hyundai Sonata, among others - the listing shows a number of compatible models. Lots of used ones on Ebay as well.
Is the functionality of the left side buttons "wired" into the US spec cars harness/plug? I doubt they would work. Reminds me of Hyundai BlueLink services such as roadside assistance and stranded motorist (SOS).

No idea on wiring harness or plug compatibility. For 60 dollars or less, might be worth a try if you need the Homelink capability and/or want the lighted buttons, auto dimming, etc.

The three left side buttons are part of the bundled UVO services in Canada - Connect to Roadside Assistance, UVO Voice Local Search (Google Powered), and SOS to contact emergency services. In the event of a crash and airbag deployment, the car will contact emergency services automatically. Even if the plug is compatible, I doubt those buttons would be of much use in the U.S. without the UVO support behind it.

Yea my buddy has a newer Hyundai and his mirror is very similar to that and the buttons light up. No dimming or compass though.

Ok, so i bit the bullet and got one on ebay from a 2017 Hyundai Tuscon with model TLMHL4 and GNTX-1027. It looks exactly the same as shown in post #25 except the far left button has a "B" for bluelink on it. Dont really care that the three left buttons wont work as i would not use them anyway. I am more interested in having lit button all around. Ebay was $49 for the mirror so we will see next week when it shows up.

OP - which panel needs to be removed to gain access to the mount? Is it the one immediately above the mirror with a small tab on it? Seems like reasonable spot but figured id ask before removing items nonetheless.

Fingers crossed on this one.

Did it work?...if so.. can you share any pictures?

lit mirror.webp My ebay mirror arrived in excellent condition and installed last night...happy to say it was a direct plug and play and the lights fired right up!!! I do note a difference in that the far left button has a "b" which is for "bluelink" the Hyundai service but i am ok with that. I even like the blue led it has.

For reference i did a search on ebay for TLMHL4 and then made certain the GNTX-1027 showed in the pics. This was from a 2017 Genesis Sedan. The description stated, homelink with GDO and Auto-Dim. I have verified all functionality!

Total cost was $55

An excellent upgrade, using an OEM piece at a very reasonable cost - you've blazed the trail for many others, I'm sure. Nice job!

Thanks...curious, if your mirror lights up, what are the colors or the left two buttons? Are they blue also?

Do the stock Stinger buttons stay lit ALL the time? This morning was the first time i have driven in daylight and noticed the new mirror remained lit even though the interior backlighting was off (radio buttons, steering buttons, etc). Does not affect visibility but just curious if the stock one does this?

Thanks
