Question are you implying I am not being civil or that this reply is off topic? My intention has been neither.ok, see, the forum member, when he posted about this, inquired about getting an attorney. it would be frivolous because of the fact that you would have to prove, without a shadow of doubt, that the dealer misrepresented the vehicle in question. also, i did not say that bait and switch is allowed, what i said was bait and switch is done, not condoned. you cannot honestly tell me that any of us haven't seen advertisments offering an incredible price for something, only to see in small print that they have one in stock. and of course, you get there and it is already sold. that is legal. is it ethical? no, but it is legal. so, until the actual forum member posts that he/she has spoken with an attorney or got restitution for this mistake, we are just spinning our wheels and going off topic. and, please, if anyone is going to quote another member, at least make sure it is relelvant. i respect everyone's opinions, if i like them or not, but i do try to keep things civil between forum members.
The intention was to discuss how the law states that it does not matter if the dealer was trying to be misleading ...it is illegal. What I have been attempting to articulate is how too many companies do use the gray area of bait and switch. I am a firm believer in transparency.
Another question I would love someone to expounded on is why do people give up so easy and say something is wrong; but thats just the way it is and you should accept that fact? Where would we be if everyone just gave up because it may be difficult?
