• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

The cars you know (KIA outside,e inside) yet are not for sale in first, more to show and animate the people to order one.
If you don't want to wait and buy one of these then you miss some details.
The final version you get after order will have all the specs you miss now.
Its not clear why some importers does not list all options you have in the car.
KIA Switzerland does it also not...
If you can read it (its in german) compare the Switzerland PDF with the German PDF.
The Switzerland GT have all the same options like the German GT but the half is bit in the list in Switzerland.
Did Australia get an official list like these, too?
I found the Switzerland PDF not yet,but it is still here in the forum.
I post it some weeks ago...

Yep, dealers clearly know the same as (less than) us....just been given a revised date for mine NOW being 12/11/17 when I was told just 2 weeks ago it'd be here in the next 2 weeks. Apparently it's due to production delays due to demand....WTF???

Anyone from KMAu (cute little u on the end there btw) want to actually talk in this forum to their "customers" and explain what "pushing the button" actually means? Perhaps the button is caught up in production delays? Worst launch of a new product since Vegemite 2.0......

And, whilst I'm venting......the fact that every US dealer is running YouTube adverts with real live cars and have "launched" a brochure seems to suggest to me they may be a little more advanced than one of the previous posters suggests....

Starting to get seriously frustrated - and here come all the dealers telling me that they can sell the car 10 times over if I walk away....well, gentlemen (and ladies) selling it is one thing - delivering it is another!

Madman,

I hear your frustration with the difficulty in obtaining clear information around delivery dates and vehicle specs but I think in fairness we have to put this all back on Kia Australia and not the independent dealers who can only relay information from the manufacturer. The minute my dealer has obtained any information he has been contacting me immediately which is as much as anyone can ask. However when I contacted Kia Oz via email with an enquiry I didn't get so much as a courtesy reply to say we will get back to you when the information you are seeking is available, nothing.........just deafening silence and there is no excuse for a company of this scale not to have processes in place to ensure customers are not completely ignored like this.

I get that initial demand will outweigh supply and the dealers will hold up their prices. The difference will be in those dealers that have the foresight to recognize this is probably the first time Kia has had a car that could deliver real long term brand loyalty and repeat business with their buyers. At the very least they should understand that customers need to "have a win" (sales 101) on some level even if its only a couple percent discount and some accessories thrown in to feel they are being looked after and want to deal with the salesperson again in the future or at the very least send them referrals.

Welcome Perth Kia.

As you are one of the lucky one's to have driven this anticipated vehicle, can you confirm that the GT will have auto start and rear LED indicators please?

Hey,

I can confirm they didn't have Auto Start Stop function on the vehicles we drove and haven't had any info as to if it will be added in the future.
As for the indicators, I seem to recall the lamps were LED but not the indicators, I cant confirm either way until the vehicle arrives at the dealership but I will try to find out for you.

Does anyone actually know when the first shipments will be delivered?

My stinger was ment to arrive at the Aussie docks on the 25th of September and at my dealer on the 17th of October.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I was advised by my dealer 16.10.17 and I ordered mine back in February

That sux.

The anticipation is sky high up in here. I feel for you early adopters. Kia Aus and it's dealers seem to be handling this poorly. I'm sure it's worth the wait though...

I agree with you that the dealers are probably as in the dark as we are hence my comments around anyone from KMAu willing to provide any comments. I, like you, am still waiting for contact from KMAu to a couple of queries from very early in the piece but I've moved on and MOST of those questions have subsequently been answered (by a lot pf people in this forum). Talk about sales 101....communication?

My frustrations are purely around being drip fed information that keeps changing. Price, specifications, delivery....

It all better be worth it!!

MM you must be pulling your hair out after being told that, I'm simply going to expect the expected for mine and that is a whole lotta excuses. Ps. Got a rare jar of the short lived veggie 2.0 unopened if you are interested?

AND, something I just realised.....

The dealer claims (and I have no reason to suspect he's lying to me) to have ordered his demo car/s and mine on the same date yet mine arrives a month later.....must be the tricky blue paint. <sigh> As they say, first world problems.....

Hey guys,

long time listener, first time caller. :)
I just placed my order on my stinger just yesterday. Cant wait for it.
I have noticed a few other members have brought from the same dealer as I have. (Going back through some of the comment)

TERRA And MADMAN I got mine from Southland Kia too.
I had to go on a "back order" for mine as he cant order Stingers in his normal ordering system. because of the delay in Korea. Its just what it is really.
Those who wait will be rewarded. I personally cant wait for mine.

Bring on the Stinger.

Well done - welcome to the waiting lounge. There are some very thick novels on the bookshelf and plenty of long running TV shows on the DVD player.....

Yeah happy to wait for the car that has a good write up.
Nothing else out there that has this much value for this price tag.

Well done KIAGT and welcome.
