• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

______________________________
Now that the car is only a few weeks away, maybe 1 week!
I am still confused, about a couple of things if NE1 here can confirm justa couple of things:
1. As above in the video, it seems like there is an actual spare tyre (TEMP)..on the stinger 2ltr. Does this mean it is also available here on V6 GT?
2. Have seen a few pics around the place re BREMBO BRAKES...are the brakes Ventilated and are they drilled or slottted?
3. Love the touch of having PUDDLE lAMPS/LIGHTS is it/or where is it coming from. Under, 1.door or from the 2. Side mirrors?
4. Rear indicator lights, is it also on the rear sides?

this is not going to make my decision, just curious!

Hi Stinger enthusiasts. We are only weeks out from receiving our first showroom display car (3.3 GT). We are proud to announce that we are the only dealer in Australia and set to be the only one in the world to have a KMC exclusive.

Due to the changes in factory ordering colour selections we can confirm that our initial vehicle featuring Sunset Yellow with Red Nappa will not be available. We have it. Anyone who is interested in owning an exclusive should contact us. We can fright interstate.

And if anyone would like to check out our video from our training day, follow me at https://www.facebook.com/AutomotiveDylan

I think we're already frightened enough by the price of the car - don't want to know what it would cost to "fright" interstate!

View attachment 459 Just got an email from my dealer with all the info my stinger. It arrives in port today but not sure what port. ETA to my dealer is the 17 Oct. The info gives me all the car numbers including the a finish completion date of the 23/08/17. The interior colour states black but is wrong it should be red so the dealer recheck and hopefully it is a type o only

Hi Richard,

Can you please tell me what date your dealer originally placed an order on the factory for you car as I'm trying to work out the time frame from order date to your 23/08 production completion date.

I ordered my car exactly two months ago and the document from the dealer today still does not confirm a build date but I would think by now this must be scheduled and confirmed for some time in October as he is telling me the car will be here in November and shipping takes a month. I don't want to commit to the contract unless he can verify a production completion and delivery date in writing. He is offering me zero discount so I don't want to lock myself in now to later find out my car is delayed until next year. If this is the case I might as well ring every dealer in town to see if anyone is willing to offer a better price.

Thanks,

My dealer stated he placed my order with Kia Australia on the 30th of March. He could not tell me when that was forwarded to Korea by the Kia Australia. Another person ordered a stinger about June I think and he stated that car won’t be hear until early next year he thinks but he could not confirm this. He stated that this has been one of the weirdest roll outs of a new vehicle that he could remember. He said it just so hard to get solid info from Kia Australia and appears to change all of the time. Hope this helps Tazztattoo.

My mail is North America and Europe are getting priority hence the delay to a country who probably has less than 1% of the worlds vehicle. Sorry.

Hi Sting,

the new brochure off the Kia website can answer some of these question for you:

1. ALL Australian variants come with a "temporary" space saver spare tyre
2. V6 brakes are ventilated front and rear. 4 cylinder front ventilated/rear solid
3. Puddle lamps are under the side mirrors
4. Rear side piece that extends from the brake light does not illuminate, its a garnish only

Thanks Tazztattoo. I did check out the brochure. was not sure cos not clearly defined.

1. Just Says Temporary spare!! In the video posted above or here:
you can see in the boot a tyre well? is that if you wanted an actual spare or is it only available on the 4cyl
2. The brochure says ventilated but not whether they are DRILLED holes and some slotted.
4. wonder if I could place some LED indicator lights in there myself!

Yep, that's what I heard as well. Unless you ordered before August, Jan/Feb is the earliest you'll see your Aus spec car....

I haven’t seen any brakes with drilled disks and only early pics with some slotted groves so it will be interesting to see what we get. It seems strange that the front lights are LED and the tail normal bulbs cost savings I guess

There appears to be two versions of rear indicator lights overseas. One with a single halogen type lamp and the other with multiple LEDs.

The Australian brochure states ALL variants come with "LED rear combination lights"

My dealer today advises that my car ordered two months ago on August 2 will arrive in November. I recall back on the day of ordering that Kia nationally were placing orders on the factory as my order had to be rushed through to make the deadline. So hopefully for me this proves to be the cut off for deliveries this year. I'm expecting confirmation of VIN/Engine number details to verify this in the next week or two.

Also for anyone ordering red leather this will be noted on your order paperwork under the "car description" detail and not the "interior colour" detail for which all cars are black. My red leather "car description": CK STINGER 3.3 GT A/T RED

Sounds about right - just under the wire?
