Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Well, looks like I am not gonna even attempt that lol. But how do you even regap the stock plugs?
Its not really that bad, honestly my biggest issue was finding all the damn screws, cpuosnt figure out why the manifold wouldnt come off...i was missing 2 more screws, lol. I didnt watch the video though. It never hurts to learn more about your car with diy stuff.

Well.. The map sensor is reading too low or too high. I'd clear and see if it comes back. Else you'd need a scanner that can read the PID and see what voltage it's putting out.

Is it something that could be caused by the JB4? Or is the sensor possibly failing?

Could be the jb4, but others haven't experienced yet. I would also double check the connectors at the map sensor from the jb4. Maybe reseat them to make sure everything is nice and firmly connected.

I'm running map 1 on 93 octane for about 400 miles now and I've started getting a hesitation about 3k rpm's when hitting the boost hard. After that it still runs hard up to redline, but I think I'm going to remove the tune until I can re-gap the plugs.

I read back several pages looking for a stock plug replacement in the event one of mine is cracked when I go to re-gap. Has an NGK IR replacement been found? I found R7437-8 and R7437-9 for colder plugs, but nothing for stock heat range. Anybody tried the heat range 8 plugs?

Watch out when running colder plugs. they will foul out eventually. just my two cents

As do all plugs. They are a consumable just like tires and brakes.

I agree, I'd rather use stock heat range 7 plugs. Is there a replacement the local auto parts store in case I pull one and it's cracked?

No one on the forum has mentioned being able to purchase OEM plugs from a 3rd party. All who have had plug/coil issues went to the dealership and had them replaced there. Some have had to wait a couple weeks since the parts are hard to come by.
My stock plugs are fine and will be my back up should the HKS plugs be a problem.

Yeah same happenes to me before i gapped them

I have a 2.0, any have any idea on what kind of power gain you can expect from the Jb4 chip?

Im not even sure it is available for the 2.0 yet, last I heard burger tuning was waiting dor someone with a 2.0 to come by the shop and see if they could get an alpha unit running.

I did E-mail them, they replied that the jb4 works, but no other information from them on that, so it wasn't really very helpful. Wish i had seen more positive review about the LAP chip, maybe if they improve that it would be the way to go.

As long as the 2.0 has the same connections as the 3.3 I don't see why the JB4 wouldn't work.

Of course I'm no tuner engineer so don't quote me on that.

There were a few members who posted initial positive experiences with the LAP3 uncle chip for their 2.0s but they have been silent since, despite several others inquiring directly. My personal opinion is while the chip has worked on the 2.0 in other applications, the stock plugs in the Stinger version will probably need to be re-gapped at the least. I know that if I had the chip and it was still running fine, I'd certainly let others know. The fact no one has even responded to direct update inquiries should tell you something about it. RaceChip is also developing a version for the 2.0, and there is also Bytetronik who also has a piggyback unit for the 2.0 but I don't know of any board members who've used it.
