EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

Thanks.
I never thought about WMI. Today I saw on map0, that I have some timing deviation 0.8-1.5. I'm not sure if it is some adaptation or spark plug problem, I'll observe it.

From things I read, it's not only about psi- people claim, that after BEF cars feel better and run faster even with a lower map.

I'll start with 17deg. Always I can mix fuel with 99% alcohol to clean logs- we don't have 85 here :)
Steady AFR will smooth the car by a little bit and timing at shift will shave off the 1/4 time by a noticable 0.2-0.3s. WMI can run use pure ethanol or pure methnol depends on which one is the cheapest available too. Here's some 17deg vs 19deg BEF screenshots and you can see the mid end timing I'm talking about. It's peaking at same timing but mid end(after shift) is night and day difference. That's why I say 19deg would be a problem and 17 might be just fine.

So ran the car on the 224 dynojet. Weather was about 100.1f. Some playing around with map 6 tune and the the BMS E85 BEF. Car was performing well and graph shows that.

She made about something like 500

Alright so I recently got a EK1, I’ve been having issues trying to run the patch but figured out there is a dongle on my OBD that is blocking the patch! After figuring that out I only had access to a computer for a short time in multiple days so uploaded the patch and had changed my calibration ID to the one I was patching and bought a tune as well. I have since changed it back to my actual current calibration ID and now it is saying the information doesn’t match the vehicle. I’m guess this is because the tune locked that calibration ID to my account. I’ve had no response from sxth for 2 days and they just sent something out today about not getting back to people until the 6th! Can anyone help in the meantime?

Pretty sure you leave the patched calibration id in place. If they gave you a different one, the parameters for it are equivalent to your original.

does anyone happen to have the original bin file for the CENNDM_Z_N2B ECU?

They converted mine to CENNDM_U_N2B, and I only have the bin file for that, and trying to go back to the original if possible

You mean the boot patch? That’s what they sent to patch the ECU because they didn’t directly support your calibration ID?
I know they sometimes had you patch to a “similar” ID if they didn’t support yours.
I haven’t looked on my ek1 for a little while, I don’t remember if you can read and save your existing boot patch, if not, I fear that you could probably only get it from Kia.

after you ran the patch the ek1 gave you a bin file that was 4 megs.

the one I have is for CENNDM_U_N2B, and it should have been CENNDM_Z_N2B

When I did my burger tuning BEF, the first thing I had to do was write a boot patch to the ECU. This came from sxthtuning. This opens up the ECU to actually allow tunes to subsequently be written, which is a separate file. The boot patch only needed to be done once. My understanding was that they sometimes didn’t have every possible calibration ID so the boot patch they sent changed to a similar one that they did have tunes for.
If it saved a copy of your original boot patch, it should have been in the sd card somewhere. If not, best of luck because I don’t know where you might get it from.
This was back before it all changed over to ek1tuning. Not sure what’s different now.

yeah, when they sent me the boot patch it converted me to CENNDM_U_N2B, and from there I got the bin file.

I have the initial file, but it's encrypted, and seems to be useless now like that.

maybe someone will pop up who has it

I wonder, if you’re having these many problems with it, if it might end up having to get an OEM ECU and starting over.

seems like converting the ECU from CENNDM_Z_N2B to CENNDM_U_N2B caused issues.

even after using the recovery file the ECU does not go back to full stock. certain settings(ISG for one) doesn't revert

also the major issue I'm having is my trims. they don't drop when using meth, no matter what tune i use they stay at 40ish when meth is being sprayed. the meth is working perfectly though(entire system has been tested)

anyone have any ideas how to fix this other than buying another ECU?

Have you tested flow? Bms nozzles arent the best tbh try a snow 14 gph or prometh equivalent nozzle.

tested with the BM12 nozzle, and getting about 12 GPH

Atomization isnt great on bms nozzle, what mix are you running?

it's a 90/10 mix

While it's only a short video, you can see the atomization, and that it's work properly.

even if it wasn't perfect the trims should drop, and not rise

Have you used or seen the pattern on other brand spray nozzles? I used to use bms nozzles theres a huge difference in atomization. Id also step up to 14gph
