Masterclass for newbies

What nanny setting have you turned off? I turned off Highway Driving Assist and Highway Speed Assist.
But that did not solve the problem with adaptive cruise control on in some turns the speed drops by almost 5 MPH. Any solution for this a side from using the gas pedal to stop the drop in speed?

Does the speed pick back up after the turn? how tight is the turn?

yes, tight at 77 mph on a freeway.

I mean, that kind of explains itself then. The car thinks it may be safer to slow down just an bit for safety. it may not do it if you have TC turned off, but as long as it returns back to the speed it was originally at, then you dont actually seem to have an issue.

I was hoping I could stop the car for thing for me. My 2016 Honda Civic Touring with adaptive cruise control on and the same turns did not slow down. I think it might seeing the guard rail as if it was a car.

If it was seeing the guard rail like a car, then it would either slam on the brakes or steer away from it. My advice would be to find a less tight turn and see if it does the same thing, if it doesn't then its clearly the car thinking you are going too fast on that turn. if it does, then try it again using the regular CC and see what happens.

Ah, you have not accepted that your car is female: the onboard nannies were all programmed to behave like a "told you so". I'm so glad that I don't have any nannies. But this extends to all the 30 modules governing the car: including using the paddle shifters: if you don't drop to a low enough gear for the amount of gas/torque that you are demanding, "She" will take over and downshift for you, every time. :P

Would this strut bar be beneficial over the simple bms strut bars that only go one angle ? The extar middle bar coming across the middle to connect the strut bars. This paired with sway bars should offer a noticeable difference in handling ? This strut bar is not out yet but it says it will be ready to ship may June of this year.

Yeah was having problems. I’ll post a screenshot but the website is shopkiastinger.com. Kia stinger strut brace. Seems like a beefy strut bar that can provide noticeable differences maybe
Im pretty sure I have seen multiple stingers with that bar, so its out there already for sure, it could just mean they are waiting on a re-stock. as for handling difference, I have no idea. Maybe? I cant imagine that much though.

Have any pics of other stingers with them on ? Or provide links . This is my first time seeing this strut bar

its mostly been on Facebook or random Instagram peoples unfortunately. its been a few weeks for sure, but its one of those things where you remember seeing it because of its shape.

Going to be honest none of these strut bars offer much value other than looks as they aren't really strut bars they are supports for the radiator core support. The struts towers are already triangulated into the firewall via the factory sheetmetal.

Good to know. Looks well made but if it really doesn’t provide any support then like you said all for Looks . Thanks

Good Morning...

I'm not a newbie to cars but I am a newbie to modifying modern cars. Everything I built in the past was older than 1993.

I'm looking for advice on the order of mods from "gotta do immediately" to "nice to have". Here's what I am thinking so far:
1) Springs/sway bars/upgraded brake pads
2) Oil catch cans
3) Spark plugs
4) Exhaust
5) JB4 kit (like the 450whp available)

Thoughts? In what order have others moved and why?

Since the only mod I have is Eibach sways, that is Number One and Only. :P

OK--I'm a newbie, and I have a question.

I just discovered recently that Hyundai/KIA don't allow their "class-leading" 10yr/100k mile warranty to be transferred when the vehicle is sold. Can anyone confirm this?

This was a real gut-punch, because I've been eyeing the GT for awhile now and my budget simply won't allow me to buy new. And I felt the 100k mile warranty made a used one very attractive.

But, it appears that a certified pre-owned does get the full warranty, so there is that.
I just brought a certified pre owned and I did get the full warranty

Obviously this is subjective. But the first thing I did was sways. I don't touch suspensions otherwise anymore. Too many bad roads and too many miles driving on them with coil-overs, springs, etc.

Second is the oil catch can. I don't have to do any valve cleaning with mine. I just have to remember to empty it. Oil changes are a good time to do it.

Spark plugs do not need to be touched unless you're going to increase boost (JB4, et. al.). And then you want one of two specific spark plugs mentioned here endlessly.

I did the midpipe and so far nothing more. Stingers were very new and I just looked under the car. It seemed the midpipe had the largest/most bottleneck(s). I still had to heavily insulate the hatch area and under the back seat to help with the increased exhaust volume. If you do consider replacing/upgrading further back, look into tips that will extend the piping to the decorative outlets in the rear valence. That will keep the exhaust noise from bouncing off of those tips and back to be heard in the car. Search is your friend.

The JB4 is the ticket if you don't want a custom tune. But you HAVE to have good gas. True 93 octane or E30. You'll want intakes, spark plugs, and whatever connectors they may have for easier installation/removal. Again, plenty on this topic through the site's Search.

Good luck and have fun!!

Just purchased a stinger new and was told that the warranty can be transferred for $50 to the new owner if I decided to sell.

All new car warranties on all cars not just Kia are fully transferable to the next owner in Australia at no cost.

In my case I have two My23 Stinger GTs Brand new with full 7 year unlimited km warranties and fully transferable to the next owners for the life of the warranties.

I'm awaiting delivery of my 2022 Stinger GT Elite/GT2. Definitely a newbie to stinger mods

So Why do most people do the sways? Also what is an example of exhaust tips that extend through the rear outlets ?
