New Intake

After a couple of days driving with them on I’ll say I’ve felt the most difference in while driving in ECO . When driving in Sport mode I can’t say nothing has changed but maybe I’ll start to notice more of a change over time.

All in all cost wise for me it was worth it’s aesthetically pleasing. Might take some time to see how it holds up on for someone a tuned setup to be a worthy addition. I lucked out and got them with a discount when they were up for what was apparently preorder.

Fun fact you can pop out the windows on top of the main housings not certain why though.
Do you have any ever mods done besides the Intakes?

Can confirm the AFE intake fits fine with the Johnny Tig intercooler piping. It's cozy on the passenger side, but everything fits.

Left the plugs out, just for giggles. Was surprised that the IATs were within a couple of degrees whether sitting in the fast food line or cruising down the street.

Do you have ram air ducts installed on your car? I'll probably leave the plugs in.

Yup. Removing the front ducts/silencers should be a prerequisite for these intakes - I'm really surprised AFE doesn't document that.
The IATs did creep up last night, but dropped 15 degrees once moving. The turbo noise is still very quiet in my car. Can only hear them with the windows down, so I'll be putting the plugs in. I'm not all that excited by the noise anyway.

Don't want the car too rowdy

I'll get some free time tomorrow after work to get them installed. I'll schedule 3 dyno runs after I had the intakes installed for about 2 weeks, just to see if I get any gains.

Post some videos when installed man!

I'll make a video later but here are my first impressions.

The fitment is perfect and the quality is top-notch. I left the optional air plugs in for a true cold air intake system. While on a short mostly highway drive, I couldn't hear any induction noise but I had the windows rolled up. I'm sure with the windows down I'll hear it. I could actually hear the stock airbox plus AEM filter combo through my ram air ducts with the windows down before. So I reckon the induction noise is pretty noticeable from the outside.

Update: The intakes are loud outside of the car, especially if you have ram air ducts. People will hear your car sucking in the atmosphere lol. So, sound check passed in my book.

So probably a Tork or Lozic tuned car that was returned to stock before selling. It probably had aftermarket intakes and who knows what else on it at some point of it's life too.

I wouldn't even fight Kia if I were you. Trade-in values are high. Probably best to just trade it in for something else.
I've had about as many issues with a Lozic Tune as one can reasonably have (Mind you, I did originally get it used, and the issues are fixed now) and my Turbo's have been on two separate engines and don't look like that. I don't think it was a tune that could have done that realistically. You are probably spot on with the intakes part of that though. It looks like it was run with no intakes at all, or some really cheap amazon/ebay intake that fell apart after 100 miles, sending half the intake into the turbo.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the intakes! I notice they do fill out a bit more space than the stock intakes. Do they stick out to where I'd need to switch up my oil catch can? Here's a shot of my engine bay for better reference.
Thanks!

Looks close. I'll take a pic from the same angle in my engine bay. It's hard to tell if your OCC will clear the airboxes.

No problem, here are two pictures of the area you had your OCC mounted.
Looks like it WILL barely fit with my Add-1 catch can. I'll probably have to drill a new hole on the OCC bracket to move it back to give me more space to service it, but it looks like it will work.

Thanks again!
