New Intake

Oiled flows air a little better but cleaning is a bit more involved because you'll have to re-oil the filter. Dry filters are easier to clean. Ram air ducts are a must for these as well as any intakes for the Stinger.
Oddly according to their site the dry performs slightly better. I also picked up the pre-filters since I am running snorkels and am slightly worried about moisture getting into the intakes.

I noticed the performance figures were backward than what you would think for the CFMs posted..

I'm really interested in this intake system. What are y'alls thoughts on dry vs oiled? Not quite sure which route to go.

Would it be a waste of money to couple the velossa big mouth snorkel with this intake?

My preference would be for dry, performance is almost identical with this system & with dry you won’t get any oil residue downstream of the filters.
From what I can tell is that the dry & oiled systems are identical only the filter pods are different so if you don’t like dry you can change over to oiled easy enough.

Try them with the standard snorkels first, then if not happy change up to the Velossa Big Mouth snorkels.

Having this kit installed this Thursday, will be one of the first in OZ, cannot wait.

Coincidently, here in Sydney at the moment it's raining harder that I've ever seen it before and I just drove 2 hours in it at 100KPH most of the way and out of curiosity, I wanted to see how much water gets into the air boxes in a "worst case" scenario with Vellosa Tech snorkels installed, and here's the results...

That’s a good test given the amount of rain we’re having….

That's good data!

What cleaning products are you guys using for the Afe intakes and how often is it recommended ?

I’m running the dry filter system & you cannot get the aFe synthetic filter cleaner here in OZ, so I bought the K&N Synthetic Filter Cleaner.
I’m not 100% sure but I believe it’s every 80,000kms (50,000ml) but less in harsh environments.

These are nice too:

Is anyone running these charge pipes with the Injen Short Ram intakes? I'm tempted...

Gotcha . So just spray on and let dry ?
Spay on the cleaner, be sure to wash your hands afterwards because the cleaner is a corrosive. Rinse the filter from clean side to the dirty side after about 10 to 15 mins, then let the filters dry off.

Well, I just caved and ordered the intakes. Figured I'd pick them up before they go back up in price.
