3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Anyone have experience with the MBRP 2.5" catback? Im getting it this weekend and I wanna know some thoughts and opinions.
Just did mine last week. Did it myself with the car on jack stands.
Two main takeaways, spray penetrating lubricant on the bolts/nuts a day or two before to make sure they aren't stuck, and when tightening the clamps, when you think they are tight enough, they probably aren't.

You may or may not need it, depending on your climate. Being in California, mild climate and no road salt mine weren’t bad. Some climates might be more prone to corrosion. Best to be safe and think ahead to avoid the pain.

Yes but it will be in the 50s tomorrow before getting cold again so great time for a wash too.

I had some pretty bad drone cruising at highway speeds with the Borla cat-back & SSR pipes, so I tried the exhaust wrap fix as seen here:

MAJOR improvement - no more drone and inside the car is quieter in general. I was going to get sound dampening material to line the trunk like others have done but I don't think there's any need now.
Sound dampening martial and exhaust wrap tips ? Have a link to these products and do they actually help out with the drone from the Borla as a permanent fix ?

Love my MBRP and no tips so far(and no drone)!
After a few more weeks, are you still happy with no tips? There's a video on MBRP's website that says there's no drone with the factory tips - but most on here still seem to get aftermarket tips. I'm pondering the MBRP catback, but no other mods, so wondering if the factory tips will suffice?

I put the MBRP on the first week I got my stinger. It has settled some and has a nice low sound when cruising but can come alive with spirited driving. I have had no perceived or noticeable drone with in town or long distance driving. Honestly I am considering tips to clean up the back a bit but hesitating because I don't want to change the sound signature!

Anyone with MBRP + Oval tips (63x105mm) have any issues with one of the tips sagging a bit and vibrating against the diffuser? For me, it happens on the driver side inner tip when the car is cold.

I have this setup, and it is a close fit, but you can try loosening the clamps on the tip and moving it slightly until it lines up better.
In extreme circumstances, you might need to loosen the clamps on the pipe sections and rotating them slightly to get a different angle of the two ports. It is a bit of trial and error.
Also, make sure all the clamps are tight. When I thought I tightened mine enough, they weren’t. If they allow the pipe sections to move, it throws off the alignment at the tips.

I just have some basic round ones from Autozone while I wait for better ones from Ali

I did the Borla cat back

Was really aggressive, i added two mid pipe resonators and it made it sound more solid, way less drone now, I’m very happy!

Any sound clips of your borla exhist with the added two resonators ? Do you have tips as well on your borla ? And other mods to exhaust like downpipes ?

Question. I have a 2022 Stinger GT2. From what I understand it has a variable exhaust from the factory. I believe a aftermarket cat back exhaust would eliminate that. I have ordered a Megan Race Cat Back exhaust. Is this a wise decision to do this or should I just stick with the stock exhaust?
