Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

I think stock ECU limits trottle opening, that we can see for some 10ns of a second in logs. Also good to have for safety. With TCU in sport mode you can override all torque limits with launch but not from standing still and just go, then the trottle delay opening makes the limit.
If we didnt have this limit it probably was more fun but not a faster car as it will spin in all wheels.
Yes, I think that's what he's implying if indirectly. Following up on that conversation, I asked,
I like the JB4+TCU option because the JB4 enables logging, but I think ECU only will be faster 0-100km/h because the torque limits are removed.
to which he responded,
no. The reason the ECU is faster is not because the torque limit is lifted.
There are several limitations, but the fast one is because it uses a high boost from a low rpm.
Implying that you're limited on traction either way (at least, from a launch).
As an AWD owner I would think JB4 plus TCU would be as good as Ecu and TCU sans a bit of throttle response.
And a little extra power. But do the math: $2400 (new price) for ECU+TCU with 20 more hp and (maybe) better drivability or $1700 for JB4+TCU with logging.

This is what I lean a little towards - I don't have any plans on anything beyond what I can get at the pump...which is 92 octane. I forget - you have the TCU tune also?
Yes, pressure 2

Blending the Meth myself, 50/50 right now. Running 93 octane. I have the Single BM10 Nozzle. I'll have to look at some of my settings and try your suggestions. thanks for the feedback.

  • Me to but 90/10, I think you should go higher than 50. With only 10% water it will not fire so its safe for that
  • Ok, US 93 is about the same 98 RON we have here in Sweden, thats ok
  • BM 10 is about what we can have
Do you have E85? If your fuel pressure will be ok you can do E30. You should be ok with that and especially if you go 90/10 meth.

YES 950 was with a replacement TCU. you can only flash TCU once?

But the pops are worth the extra, lol

So do you recommend the TCU with JB4 and was you times better with the tcu or did the car just feel better? Trying to decide if I might give the tcu a try but for $950.00 I want to make sure. I saw your earlier post. Were your brake boosting to get that time?

Yes, TCU works great with JB4. I also think that JB4 will and can be more developed by time by Terry and his team as it works by Canbus. So I think we over time can have some manipulated torque fix by JB4. Thats a good thing with JB4, new firmware arrive now and then and for free. New improvments steady makes it even more cheap.

I did get the TCU yesterday so I have just done like 5 launches, no one perfect yet, but from launch its about 0,5 seconds faster to 62 mph. I think there can be som more.

Yes, I did brake boost but a lot of 4 wheels spin. Have to train som more... You have to go slow with the pedal so you not rev to much and also have the time to let of the brake.

I havnt done any quarter yet but I will soon and I think time can be at least 0,6-0,8 seconds better so low 11 would be possible as I now can launch, shiftings also is faster (with no turbin slip) and by that boost also will hold better between shiftings. I have abot 22 Psi up to like 5.000 rpm an then I have it drop to 18.5 at 6.000 when shifting occur. More boost than that makes car slower.

Today my catch Can got in... so no ride.

Wait so its faster without the TCU?

So does this TCU allow brake boost like the brake snip? Because a snip requires modifying the ecu so this overrides the stock ecu? All I really care about is can I build up boost on launch and if the shifts are faster which that part has been answered..

I don't recall if it was mentioned anywhere else in the thread but I wonder if they have a TCU and/or AWD module tune that preserves the logic for the AWD GTS like in my case.

Brake snip is what it sounds like, you take of the brake light cable that going in to ECU so you fool it. Lozic TCU I think... have done the same but used Sport Mode to fool the ECU (so breaklight will function as usual).

Yes, you can have all boost you want from launch but you have to be carefull and watch Rpm, more than 2.500 rpm and boost will go skyhigh and also very fast. If you go a bit slow with pedal its more easy as you can stay at like 2000 rpm the first time and try. If you also wait to long and hold it I think gearbox turbin dont like that so... the right rpm and then go, when you go and let brake of you WOT at the same time.

So I think I will try to up the meth content. Maybe try 70-30 first. No access to E85 unfortunately or I would definitely try e30. Thanks for the suggestions!

Well submitted my order sheet! Sticking with my JB4 but going to give the TCU a go!!

Let me know how it goes. I’m in the same boat. However, I have a couple other mods I’m putting on first before I get to the TCU. But I seem to be leaning the way you’re going because I already have a JB4

Good. If you dont have E85 I think you should go for 90/10 meth direct. It will adapt after some cycles. Nothing can happen.

That depends on how much performance you want to squeeze out of your tune. The fastest Lozic tuned Stinger ran a sub-3 second 0-60 and sub-11 second quarter mile. We haven't seen numbers like that from any of the JB4 Stingers.
Have we see that track slip?

Pls point me in the right direction. I’d like to see it. That’s a great run and 0-60 under 3 well, that’s just wow!
