Have the shop check out the plugsHi! Late to the game but FYI my 2019 GT2 is all stock except a new exhaust and I am having the same issue... it’s at Kia now for the second time.

Yep. Replacing another plug AND the coil which I heard from someone earlier that that is highly irregular. Have the shop check out the plugs![]()

I hope you have as much fun with your Stinger GT as I am he heHi! Late to the game but FYI my 2019 GT2 is all stock except a new exhaust and I am having the same issue... it’s at Kia now for the second time.
The dealer said they opened a "tech-line" with Kia for further troubleshooting, seems like if this truly is a somewhat common issue they could do better than just treating the symptoms as they come up. My dealership doesn't seem to know anything beyond "plug is cracked so we replace it"
My brand new gt had 3 coils blow in 2k miles. Replaced all my plugs with hks and havnt had a problem. Is there any consensus on the root cause of this problem? On my Bone Stock 2019 GT2 with ~20k miles (Clockworks previous car) cylinder 4 has blown 3 plugs now, dealer tested the coil this time and since it tested fine they said Kia didn't authorize them to replace it. So they swapped the coil with cylinder 6 to see if that changes anything. Also the car isn't throwing any codes which is odd.

Also wondering if the coil could be fine and its just detonation killing the plugs.
I'm not wishing this on you, but I am almost hoping something happens on cylinder 6 now.
It's funny because when it happened to me the service writer acted super surprised and was like "That is so weird. I have never heard of this happening on a Stinger" all while I was thinking about this thread.

Hey all. I just traded my 18’ 2.0 for a new 21 gt2 and have 4 of the below plugs that I was planning on putting into the 2.0 with a jbl.
1. Can I use the same plugs for the gt? If so what should they be gapped to?
2. Is there any point to putting in the plugs right now if I’m not having any issues and don’t plan on getting a piggyback (yet)?

Update on this: Cylinder 6 blew a plug now, so the blown plug "followed" the coil. My local Kia dealership still refuses to replace the coil, argued with the service manager for awhile. He claims if they don't have a code and if the coil "tests fine" Kia Motors America won't allow them to replace it. Seems like nonsense to me, so now have to go back and complain to corporate. Not sure if its the Dealership or Kia Motors dropping the ball here but its a bit ridiculous.
At this point planning on just fighting for them to reimburse the cost of me replacing the coil as continuing to leave my car for days at the dealership so they can do a 5 minute spark plug replacement is pointless.
