Hey, Question, for those RWD guys, with JB4 and meth, what are you doing to help control wheel spin? Who’s using the reduce boost by gear on the JB4 and if you are using that feature, what are
Your settings? I see Terry suggested to reduce by 5 in 1st gear, and 1 in second gear. Running map 7, 93 octane, oem tires on 19 inch rims that are 8 lbs lighter on the rear. Thanks for any suggestions.

I didn't do boost by gear when I went to the track and I should have. I did 3 runs, all on Map3. My 60 fts were horrendous: 2.1-2.3. Tires were cold, didn't do a burnout but still managed a 12.4 1/4. I haven't tried the e-brake launch but heard that helps build boost on launch and has helped the AWD guys. For us RWD, it may worsen out lives lol

Next time I go I'll drop first gear by 5 or 6 and see what that does. The track was prepped pretty well but I've gotten 2.0 60ft times on the street so I'm not sure what that is about. Looking into a wider/stickier tire as well. It's not my daily driver so I can go pretty aggressive.

Regardless, boost by gear will help you at the track. Dropping 5 or 6 will put you close to stock psi when launching. I haven't touched 2nd gear boost reduction because I hook as soon as it shifts into second.

Get drag radials or reduce boost in 2nd gear 3 and 1st gear 1 and adjust from there as needed.

AWD, send all the boost..... but back to basics first. Get drag radials or really good sticky tires.
 
As soon as the rears wear out, PS4S will be going on. Still messing with the boost reduction. Haven't had much time to play with it. Thanks for the thoughts.
 
Eager to see if some of you guys in the top 1/4 mile list will purchase a TCU tune and show how much it can improve. Some of you only need a few tens to be in the 10s and with maybe with stronger launch and faster shifts you will bring the Stinger there!

I believe the stock transmission programming and launch mode is a very important limitation factor for the Stinger. Launch can be by passed with the snip but not a perfect solution either.

In all fairness there are some 12 second Stingers left but no one pays any attention to them anymore.

Are we finally going to see a 10 second Stinger this month before it starts to get too hot?

Did every one of the top 20 use some form of brake boost launch? Numbers 11 and 12 are the only ones that look like they might be possible without a boost assisted launch.

However, both of those times are really excellent RWD launches.

It really appears that brake boosting is a requirement to go fast now.

#12 is listed as having the snip. I think the only guys that won't do the snip are the hard core Tork platforms. Because it's a BMS initiated find, I believe it's a pride thing. They are few though and most still do it.

Yeah the only way people are running 60fts of 1.5s or 1.6s easily is from the BMS brake switch.

The Lap3 full ECU & piggyback combo is the only other one that makes 1.6s possible. Even Torks top Stingers with boosted launch & huge boost in 1st gear does 1.73-1.83s. Think they also had the advantages of boosted & quicker shifts the Tork backend provides but not sure.

Think the torque converter kills us AWD types, it dont truly pull til bout 15-20mph...no im not doing the brake snip even if it means 60' is better haha

Nah, it's torque limiters in the ECU and TCU
