Hey! That's MY playground.

Where 78 approaches the "T" intersection with 95, I noticed, finally, that I had the highway to myself, literally, and I started to experiment: stopped in the middle of the road and did some fast accelerations and tried launch control a few times; got it up to well over 100: then here came that "T", holy crap! Slammed on the brakes, hard, and slid to an almost stop at the stop sign, then continued onto 95 heading toward NV. That was when the real fun began. Tried a few more fast launches, taking the speed up into the 140s a couple of times. Then I decided I wanted to test SPEED, and took it up to 155 before finally backing off and just letting it coast back down to 70-something. All this time I saw nobody. You know how you can see literally for miles ahead on those arrow-straight parts of 95.

I passed a sign that said, "Slow down, prepare to stop". I laughed out loud.

And sure enough, up ahead was a stop sign holder. He kept one car ahead of me and one that pulled in behind me for over five minutes: then the traffic started to come through heading north, behind a guide truck with flashing lights on top: apparently some road work up ahead had held back the traffic: which created my "playground" (NAV "knew" this, and steered me off the I-5 much earlier and routed me down through central Oregon so I could have fun. Hah).
