2022 Kia Stinger Full America Info!!

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Hopefully I'll be getting my 2022 GT Elite in a few weeks here in Canada so I'll share pics when I get it.

This is confirmed on the top trim for 2022 Stinger
That’s frustrating I really want the 2.5t engine in a sedan with the blind view cameras. Sonata K5 and now it seems stinger don’t have it. Kia always removes all the best features from the Korea market version for USA

I get what you're saying. Unfortunately it's because it has to meet a certain price bracket. That bind view feature is an added cost especially since the cars already have blind view monitoring, lane keep assist, safe exit warning, etc.
The North American market does not want to pay too much for cars in certain segments so manufacturers have to factor that into the equation.

Figured you'd say that.......all good......

Believe it or not, this is one of the main reasons the "Supra" folks are even considering the 2.0 over the 3.0....it is the better "mod" car....yes, you don't get the true "weight" savings in the 2.5 Stinger that you do in the 2.0 Supra, but, we "are" talking about a car with two less doors/seats......with a little cash thrown at a 2.5 Stinger, the added performance will make the lack of extra pounds noticable vs throwing that "same" amount of cash at the 3.3...see below: best argument on the web for the 2.0 Supra....guy knows what he is talking about....some of the same "principles" he refers to, would apply to the 2.5 Stinger....but a WRX owner would know that.....;)

I'm not sure how easily it's going to be to make up the 68hp between the 2.5T and 3.3TT, or that drivability will be comparable with a single twin scroll turbo versus the twin turbos (the TT is much more responsive than the single twin scroll 2.0T I had in my Regal a few years ago). If the claim here is "get the 2.5T and just mod your way to the 3.3TT's stock performance", I'm going to push back and suggest it will cost more than the $5000 or 6,000 extra to just get the 3.3TT [plus a factory warranty].

It's also only a couple hundred pound weight savings 2.5 v 3.3, that's a smaller percentage of the vehicle's total weight than with the Supra. It might be noticeable with the Supra, but much less noticeable with the Stinger.

Oh I agree with you completely! :D

Like I said, I went with a WRX over an STI because the cost difference was massive and the money saved would be made up in modifications. I did not go with the WRX over an STI because it was slightly lighter.

Don't get me wrong though. I know that someone buying a base model Stinger, whether it's a 2.0L or 2.5L, is going to save a fortune compared to even a base model 3.3L. That huge amount of money saved can easily be made up in modifications that will allow the 4-cylinder to outperform the 6-cylinder each and every way to Sunday... But I don't think the slight weight-difference is the main reason... ;)

Great video btw! I have a buddy that has been following the release of the new generation Supra and has been very recently discussing buying the base 2.0L with no options over the 3.0L for the specific reasons found in that video you shared! Great tuning and modding platform and super cost effective! :D

I wonder if the UVO Link will provide remote start in the US market finally. Good to see it's added from the key fob since that's a common feature on much less expensive cars.

Thank you very much!! Were you able to find out if the rear turn signal indicators are amber LED and if the reverse lights are LED?
I'm not sure how to tell if they are LED or not. Aside from taking out the carpet and checking the bulbs.

Now i get the avatar name.........

Even after quoting my post, you didn't read it.......shame....because maybe your dictionary takes the turbos into account for "drive-ability" but in mine (and probably Websters), they don't factor......and oh, the HP difference....hmmmmmm??? With the 2.0, wasn't that difference a HUGE 110hp???? Now, 68hp difference does not seem so "daunting"......JB4-map2/intake/exhaust maybe - consider it done.

Again, got in your "own" way......didn't read quote.....

This is EXACTLY what i said........at the end of the day, my main point, is that the 2.5 makes getting into an entry-level Stinger worth a lot more than it ever was with the 2.0. Even though that is the platform I went with, I said after about 6 months, the 2.0 may be ok, but the 2.5 will do the car justice.....never intended to go "hellcat" hunting or 1/4 mile bragging or even P***S size comparing when I bought the car. Just liked the Stinger but not at a $50K price.....2.5T fixes all of my apprehensions....if it makes you feel better, I will still probably end up getting the 3.0 Supra......

told you, all good.........

at least you bothered reading....Mr. "stoopid" quoted me but didn't bother reading......
I think I missed the point of your post. Thanks for the snark, personal attack, and clarification. The sooner you get the Supra the better for this forum.

Fwiw, while you clawed back at my post, I still don't think you've explained the "throwing the same cash" statement [which I'm assuming you meant the extra sticker price] or convinced me that you're going to reach the stock 3.3TT's performance with a lightly modded and tuned 2.5T . I only post this to benefit the random member reading this thread, not that I'm interested in reading your pointed responses any further/engaging you.

Now, now.......no harm.....just made the point that you were negating my points when I said exactly what you did......

nothing personal but "you" did come up with the name.....was not insinuating that it described you "personally".....still on the fence about the Supra because, believe it or not, still prefer the Stinger....

this new info on the 22my has raised my level of interest again.....

all good....

lmfao my goodness the drama!

This is why I prefer to talk in person or over a phone instead of texting and typing... things can be totally confusing at times... o_O

Ok....For the "random" member or even "new" member for that matter....the idea of making the 2.0/2.5 reach 3.3 performance levels has been chewed to death on this forum and "throwing same amount of cash" around simply meant that if I had just $1000 to spend, I would get more improvements over stock out of the 2.5 than I would out of the 3.3....simple example: plug replacement.... 4 HKS plugs are considerably cheaper than 6 HKS plugs ($120 vs. $180) I could apply the extra $60 towards upgrading suspension/brakes, etc.....no, can't upgrade those parts for $60 (unless you buy parts from a salvaged Stinger....)but you get my point....

Back on track.....I am re-stating the fact that I am more interested in the 2.5T information, personally, vs the 3.3 mainly since the 3.3 Stinger STILL has the 3.3.......the fact the base GT has been dropped is really not "game changing"(more like economics) but a more powerful, bigger, 4pot is......especially, with the power/torque gains....now which powertrain do "you" think the "tuning" community is going to go after?????? Done pretty much everything for the 3.3 already and the 2.0 just wasn't making money for them.....but that 2.5, is a "clean" canvas.....money to be made
