Yes they are freeBefore I go through all 45 pages of posts on this thread, can someone explain what the map update policy is? I purchased a 2019 GT2 (used) last week, and by clicking around the UVO website (I think that is how got to it), I found the Kia map updater app for my PC. Once I plugged in my VIN, I was able to download the latest SW version (120, old was 097) and updated without paying for anything. Are they free now?
Thanks!
Awesome, Thanks.Yes they are free
Since the update i have only figured out how to pause a route from the map screen. How do I cancel a route? I think I checked all the screens and could not find it.
Thanks! I went through all the screens and could not find it.I just hit the voice button and say cancel route.
DUH! I never thought of trying that. Thanks! You can also long press on the pause button.
It's still there. There was a scare about it, but all good. Probably someone who loaded the US version (that doesn't have the telematics support). And the Google search works even better from the rear view mirror button! Can't live without the Google as the built-in nav voice recognition and addresses database is far inferior (that's the polite description).I just discovered this thread, had no idea navigation was upgradable. I am still running the factory nav version on my 2018.
I was about to update to the latest nav downloaded from Kia, but noticed some people report Google Search is removed in newer versions of navigation.
Can someone in Canada who runs the latest version confirm that this is so? In that case I'd rather stay on the old version since I use Google Search a lot (the one that you get by tapping the "G" icon in nav menu).

Same with my 2019...no "G" Google Search in the NAV MenuMy rear view doesnt have a voice button, and I dont see a G in the nav menus anywhere. Is there a way to call the google assistant from the interface without android auto? Yes my car is Canadian and so is the software.
Oh, wait....Is this specific to Android Auto...DOH!....Same with my 2019...no "G" Google Search in the NAV Menu
Not voice. It's the middle button on the left. If equipped with telematics, when you press that button the prompt will appear on the screen and you simply state an address or a name of a store or location as you would into Google. This has nothing to do with Android or Apple--it is using the Internet connection built into the car.My rear view doesnt have a voice button, and I dont see a G in the nav menus anywhere. The difference is that this prompt will understand what you say 99.9% of the tine and can comprehend plain English. The nav voice promp
If it's working now, there should be no reason it won't update if you are in a jurisdiction with free updates. So, I'm upgrading my base gt. Bought the 8" screen and nav head unit out of a gt2. It came with an sd card. Can I still update the nav when updates come out?
