Intake Comparison

I can't wait to see what time improvements are made tomorrow. I went with BMS but am back to stock for the moment.

Haha, thanks for the honest response! Hopefully I'll experience the same, even if it's all in my head as well. :p

I see that you have some pretty big mods (WMI and a Lap3). Have you measured 0-60 with a Dragy or 1/4 mile times at a track? I'd be curious to see what you're getting with a setup like that.

I have not yet. I do have a Dyno Day planned coming up in November. I also hope to take her up to Maryland International Raceway here soon as well. I currently am running 100% meth and freaking love it.
Yeah my build got a bit out of hand, seeing in the beginning I was just going to add intakes and exhaust only. haha! But I love my Stinger and regret nothing. Now if only my JT Intercooler would come.

Oh, and might as well add in my favorite pic (just for attention!). Notice my "Cat back"?

I have a numerous data points with a bone stock Stinger for 0-60 mph and the quarter mile with a dragy.

I am going to try the bigger mouth snorkel and some drop in K&N filters(otherwise stock) at Rockingham tomorrow in cooler temperatures.

I looked at the K&N filters just now and you can literally see daylight through them. That is VASTLY different than the stock filters.
I've noticed a big difference in "spirited driving" now that the temperatures have cooled off. I'd love to be at Rockingham tomorrow if a) I had new tires and b) I didn't have to work.

That Stinger looks amazing! That black paint on the wheels came out awesome. It looks like you've got the OEM mud guards as well as a side skirt. Am I seeing that correctly?

I was looking into side skirts and thought they would all collide with the mud guards. The lowering kit looks great too. Unfortunately, I live in NH and I'd be bottoming out all over the place :/

I look forward to seeing how it performs

Yup, I trimmed the OEM mud guards (bottom side, you cannot see it) to fit around the M&S skirts. No way I was cutting up my brand new skirts. :P

Love yours as well! Gotta train that pup to sit just behind the rear wheel for the "Pup Back" look. :p
<3
My poor little pup is getting pretty slow, he will be turning 14 next week and I thing a very hard decision is going to have to be made soon. Breaks my heart to even think about it. The little guy (Freddie) has been by my side 90% of my life over those years. We even had 3 months together in Mexico the year wife’y couldn’t do the full 6. Love the ones ya love well ya got em.....especially the furry ones.

So true! My kitty (Tica) in the pic is 18 years old, and still going strong though she is starting to lose her sight and too much weight. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She has been a prissy sweet friend all of these years.

Alright, after a boat load of research, I think I'm gonna go with the JTs. The cost difference over something like the Injens with snorkels or the K&Ns with snorkels is only $35 and $120, respectively. With the current conversion rates, the JTs are currently about $800 USD, shipped. Now I just have to be patient for 10 to 12 weeks haha).

Once I get them in, I'll do a before and after test with my Dragy and a JB4 to see how they compare to my DIY intakes. By that time, I'll also have my Mishi intercooler and Ark secondary DPs installed so my results may be better or worse than someone else's, depending on their mods.
I don't like raining on anybodies parade but if you're choosing the JT Cai you could well be waiting 4-5 months.

As mentioned here and various FB groups his lead times are shocking some are still waiting over 5 months later. Just thought id add this to lessen your chronical expectations.

Oof. They told me 10 weeks so I assumed 12. 3 months isn't too bad considering I wouldn't have too much time to install it until January anyway, but 5 months... eh, not sure I want to wait almost half a year. Has anyone received it in under 4 months or did it even take a long time for you to get yours (I see that you're in Australia).

Nice! Good to know I can get side skirts and keep my mud guards

I was the first to receive mine in a group buy after 11 weeks the rest took alot longer. Under 4 months and you'll be doing well.

I just installed a Stillen intake. Took me 1.5-2 hrs. I’ve never installed an intake before and I’m slow lol. Not really any fitment issues just twisting and time consuming with screwing the filters in place. Self tapping screws suck and all 3 are somewhere on the guard underneath the car that I can’t get to lol. But ohh well. 29D4CF41-157C-422C-AA4F-BF22D8E65D26.webp

How could that possibly be considered a “Cold Air Intake”? The filter points back towards the engine and it appears that the “heat shielding” only protects it from getting the cold air through the factory inlet.

Am I missing something that isn’t visible in the picture? Is there a new cold air inlet that it utilizes. Perhaps something in the wheel well?

From that one picture it just looks like the perfect setup if you want to ingest as much hot air as possible.

Those cross braces get really hot too and they appear to go right next to the filter. I would be curious to see how this setup performs in real world acceleration tests. I am sure it flows air faster but I am not so sure that it really is a cold air intake.
